Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
- Centralize projects in one solution
Simple communication on status of projects, who is responsible for tasks, etc. were not visible before. With Workfront it's easy to have high level reporting, comments on specific task, transparency on potential for meeting timelines and who is responsible for any given task all at the fingertips of a user. Previously all communication needed to be done via email, it was time consuming to consolidate necessary information, and it wasn't always in an easy to interpret format.
Pros
- User friendly - the interface is easy to use/learn how to use.
- Customization to a certain extent that allows for almost any type of data to be captured if its desired by the user.
Cons
- Limitations within reporting. The reporting capabilities are not as expansive as they are sometimes needed to be. There are no capabilities for comparative analysis within one report.
- The functionality for publicly accessed reports could be improved. Currently, there is no way to save specific views for non-Workfront users who are accessing reports through a distributed link.
- Workfront has helped to improve efficiency and collaboration by allowing all projects to be visible at the click of a button. No more tracking things down, waiting for an email response, calculations of statuses. It's all automatic and readily available in up to the minute accuracy.
The fact that it is web based and can be viewed by anyone at anytime is huge for viability and transparency within the company. It is also much more user friendly and seems to have taken out the guess work out of building a project plan and allocating/determining timelines.
This is one of the greatest benefits that our company has had from Workfront. The ability for the top executive to have dashboards that give quick high level updates on projects within the company has been a great improvement. Management of projects that cross multiple departments now have much more transparency and the ability for communication to be consolidated in one area has been great for accountability.
