Overall Satisfaction with Workfront

  • Centralize projects in one solution
We needed a centralized location to manage projects. Workfront allowed us to do that and to have a place where different members of the company could contribute/track the status. It's a great tool to help keep all parties involved, between tagging and email notifications; Workfront met all of our needs.

Pros

  • The interface is easy to navigate and user-friendly.
  • Very robust functions in scheduling and building out a detailed project plan.
  • Handy features to tag individuals in important tickets and assign work.

Cons

  • We use this tool for our Agile development, this could be fleshed out more.
  • Adding functionality to prioritize work in Sprints can be enhanced
  • Managing the comments on tickets can get a little overwhelming at times.
  • Positive impact to our development flow. Previously we did not have a specific system.
  • Positive impact on our ability to field requests.
  • Negative impact on our user adoption (not necessarily a negative on the product) but getting users excited to use the tool can be a challenge.
We did not have a prior tool or system in place. We used spreadsheets and email, there was no fluid organization. For certain tasks we used a home grown system internally. Workfront came recommended as other individuals had used it previously and it came recommended to be implemented. Workfront was our main option.
It has assisted us in internal collaboration only. We do not have it exposed to our clients / externally. We are able to communicate between multiple departments and cut down on emails. This allows other users to keep track of tickets and requests. This does pose new challenges as tickets can be lost or not followed up on.
We have not used any professional services provided by Workfront. Unless you count the implementation. In that case, the implementation went very smoothly. We worked with an individual who was knowledgeable and helpful in getting our company up and running on this tool. Otherwise we have not used any other services.
Workfront is an excellent tool to build out projects. Working with marketing and design it is well suited. Having the ability to live proof and mark comments in real time is great. For functioning in an Agile workflow/development work, the tool can be enhanced. It all depends on the needs of your business if this tool will be a success, and adopted.
