Xero is number one in my book
Overall Satisfaction with Xero
I use Xero on a daily basis. Anything from the day-to-day processing of monthly accounts to preparing monthly reports as well as Annual Financial Statements. For any small to medium company its more than does what is needed. Not only is it exceptionally easy to use but anyone can be taught how to use it. Not to mention the apps available which makes it suitable for business on the go.
Pros
- App intergration
- Bank feeds and bank rules
- Hubdoc, no explanation needed
- repeating journals and invoices
- drill down options
Cons
- I find the difference between Start up and Standard is lacking. It would be more suitable to have a package in between the two. eg it would be better to have one that allowed bank recon and bills (not limited to 20)
- User role can also need adjustment, I need one where i need to give full access to reports but not the bank. It would be ideal if you had a tick box on all users that allowed /dissallowed bank access.
- depending on the size of the company there is a significate reducion in time for day to day processing.
- Report writing is included in the package and reports can be tailored to the user
- budget mangager included in the subscription
Zoho Books - fairly easy to use in terms of expenses and invoices. However, reporting is basic. The Sales tax report itself isn't user friendly are requires you to work out the different taxes in order to do the return. Pastel (desktop) - there is little integration and requires everything to be done manually (time-consuming) and if errors are made the require journals to be passed. Reporting is basic. Sage Accounting - lacks a proper FAR system, has no to little integrations and reports are limited. One bug is it only runs two years reports at a time where as Xero runs several years.
