Overall Satisfaction with Xero

I actually use Xero for my own practice, even my mother uses it! Xero is ideal for sole proprietors and individuals. The prices are low and the software is incredibly user-friendly. Setup is easy, too. And, the software has all the reports most people need for tax prep.

I recommend Xero to potential clients who are especially concerned about affordability. Over all, Xero is an easy to use software for those who have grown-up needs at a good price.

Pros

  • Easy to navigate
  • Easy to establish beginning balances
  • Easy to reconcile transactions with bank statements

Cons

  • Customer service needs major improvement. I just don't have time to go through all those steps just to reach someone for a quick question. It's a real issue. Most people I know won't stand for it.
  • Definitely takes less time, so more time to work on my business and gain more clients
Not crazy about the invoices and billing templates. Could be easier to understand and cleaner to look at.
It's super easy to learn if you already know QuickBooks
I haven't integrated with other products.

Potential clients were complaining up their price increases. They also found it too difficult to learn and navigate.

Well suited for individuals with simple tax prep and don't want to spend high prices just to prepare for their taxes. Also, good for small businesses that intend on scaling up. The reports and analysis are enough without feeling overwhelming. The simplicity is very appealing. Most individuals don't have the time nor the desire to learn overcomplicated softwares when building their passions for other businesses.
