Overall Satisfaction with Zoho Cliq

Zoho Cliq is the backbone of our internal communication system. We use Zoho Cliq extensively to connect with team members working on various projects. We also have inter-departmental teams to facilitate on-going projects. As required we invite external vendors, experts and even freelancers to get additional inputs/ clarifications on specific issues that need to be resolved Besides this company-wide announcements, celebrations, greetings are made through Zoho Cliq channels. In fact, internal emails are negligible as all communications are done through the messaging channel only.

External vendor communications - very convenient to take quick action
Follow-up reminders - excellent feature with reminders that can be set for an individual or the team as a whole.
All these features doubled our productivity with quicker resolution of friction points, both internally and externally
Slack is equally good but as we went for ZohoOHO CRM it made sense to go in for Zoho Cliq to benefit from the integrations. Zoho Cliq is intuitive and user-friendly with no extra learning required. Google Chat had very limited capabilities and was not very user-friendly. Microsoft Teams though seemed simple, required relearning and training and hence was not adopted.

It is very well suited as a messaging tool, where one needs to communicate quickly to a colleague the status of a particular task or an update to the work. This is especially useful for field work where the field team can report the work done and any additional resources required. We have faced issues when virtual meetings are held for a team of 10+ members with a lot of drop-offs and poor quality of reception (audio & video). While some may be attributed to poor internet connection, we do not face the same issue when using Zoom meetings. This area requires strengthening.

Using Zoho Cliq

30 - It covers all the functions - Administration, Finance, Sales, Projects, logistics, customer support, Inventory management, and Warehouses.
This application has become the backbone for team communications and has accelerated the coordination and delivery of the products and services required by end users.
3 - No special skills are required.
Once the organisation tree is available, one can with the help of team leaders and managers decide on the access levels and groups a person belongs to and accordingly give him the rights.
the program can practically run itself once the parameters are defined.
Periodic maintenance may be required to eliminate dead wood.

It is an essential part of our work and there is no way we can work without it.
It is not worth looking for alternates as the users are comfortable using it and there are no major issues.

Evaluating Zoho Cliq and Competitors

Yes - Slack
Slack is more of a casual software, more suited for Gen Z and beyond.
For organisations, we were looking for a more formal messaging service as well s a seamless integration with our CRM software.

Integration with CRM was our most important criterion as the entire business revolves around our CRM and how effectively we utilise our resources to be effective in the field.
Ease of use is another criterion, as the user can get started immediately after being given a tour of the software.
Cloud solution makes it always on and available, and you can convey anything urgent immediately. At the same time, you can schedule the messages so that you do not interfere with the user's priorities.
Not really, the software is getting better with every update, the audio and video calling has improved and is instantaneous, and they are adding quite a few features to connect with other software so it remains your hub and you can interact with any application.

Zoho Cliq Implementation

Implementation is very simple and easy. Create a Zoho account (free or paid), send/ receive an invite, log in, verify your credentials and get started. Admin would have created the channels for you, and you start contributing. The entire process is smooth, and you can get started within minutes. The Admin has to work at the backend, initially, and decide on the permissions for the individual and the team and set up permissions for access to other applications too. This needs to be planned out, tested and implemented.
Change management was a major issue with the implementation - The most important lesson is that you need to identify the right software that can quickly integrate with your other applications, is easy to use and is quick to get started with the application with little, if any, training. These factors are critical when taking up major changes in systems and processes. You need to prove it's beneficial to the members, and they can quickly transition into the new system with little friction.

Zoho Cliq Training

Excellent support. Online training and supporting videos, and resources are more than sufficient to get started. Moreover, their support channel, especially the chat window, is very helpful and provides an instant solution to all our queries. For any complicated issue, they always get back by email with the solution and on occasions even call back.

Configuring Zoho Cliq

easy configuration, in fact, nothing to configure on the user side except for some cosmetic changes. The admin, on the other hand, needs to plan out the team channels, member permissions and access before beginning the implementation.
Plan your team channels, external channels, user permissions and permission levels for other programs before you start implementing.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface - Easy to do and great customer support from Zoho.
No - we have not done any custom code
We did very little customisation as the current user interface meets our requirements.

I found the current support level more than adequate.
Yes - I had reported an error in Cliq.
It did take time to resolve it, and as they decided to include it along with other bugs for the next software update.
However, they gave me an immediate workaround to solve my issue. With my consent, they connected on remote support and helped me find and implement a workaround.
During the early days when scheduling was introduced, I faced an issue with scheduling a reminder on the team channel addressed to a particular team member.
This worked most time, but sometimes the message would get addressed to the channel and not to the team member in the channel.
The support team connected with me remotely, saw the issue I was facing, suggested a solution, handheld my implementation, resolved errors and solved the issue.

The system works perfectly well.
At times, we have faced issues with the desktop application - it doesn't start, or takes time to start, or even logs off on its own.
However, the browser as well as the mobile application work perfectly well, and we have never faced issues with them

Whenever we faced issues, it has been traced to a browser issue or Windows app issue or a mobile issue.

Zoho provides the necessary connectors or APIs to connect to most software that is in use. So getting the Zoho Cliq across to another application is not a big issue.
