Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Zoom as our primary video conferencing platform. We have field offices across the globe, primarily in Africa and Central America. We were having streaming connectivity issues with our previous platform, and Zoom has really bridged those gaps. We have far fewer lost calls and technical issues. If I need to contact someone in Africa, I will definitely choose to use Zoom.

Super easy to use
Fewer dropped calls
Easy to add meeting links in Outlook

Cons

Difficult to access meetings from the main meeting panel, using the link is so much easier.
Recording of the meeting can take a while to compress/download.

Return on Investment

Improved communication across multiple time zones.
Has made scheduling interviews much easier.

Alternatives Considered

Skype and Skype for Business (formerly Lync)

We previously used Skype and Skype for Business. We had constant connectivity issues, sound issues, and video issues. Basically, anything that could go wrong, did. Zoom doesn't take too much bandwidth and has kept the calls from lagging and video has never jerked on the screen. Even people using Zoom on mobile have liked it better.

Likelihood to Recommend

We use Zoom for our all-staff meetings where people call from all over the world. Everyone has been able to access the meeting easily. We use it for department meetings, one on one meetings, there is really no situation Zoom can't handle. The chat window has been super helpful in all of our meetings.
