Overall Satisfaction with Zoom

Zoom is used by everyone in our company as the primary communication tool. We use it for almost 100% of our meetings. The problem that Zoom addressed was that before, we had an video conferencing system that was very problematic. We could not rely on this system but with Zoom it's kinda [set it] and forget it for the most part.
  • I am really happy with the Zoom web extension for Google Calendar.
  • I find Zoom very stable compared to other video conferencing systems I have used. I have been an "IT person" for several years and I would say that's it's the best video conferencing solution I've come across.
  • I find that setting up a Zoom Room is a very easy thing to do from a hardware perspective.
  • I like the ability to update Zoom software from the Zoom admin console.
  • I would like Zoom API support to be more helpful than it currently is.
  • Zoom usage and support in China could be better.
  • We have a reliable video conferencing system.
  • We have been able to cut back on travel because of Zoom.
I love how we have set up Zoom Room at our company. We used a third-party called Munki to image our machines (before APFS days) and have set the machine reboot, update, screen settings, etc. The only thing these machines do is run the Zoom Rooms software. I have personally set up all of the North American Zoom rooms. I think in the beginning it was very challenging at first but once I got into a flow it was like running a conveyor belt.

Now the only thing that I check with the Zoom Rooms is if the iPad Zoom Controller/Calendar and the Zoom software on the Mac minis is up-to-date.
Zoom > Fuze everything

Fuze was very unreliable and working with it was such a pain in ass. To do any sort of maintenance in the machines was like pulling teeth. We had to write scripts to make Fuze do things before we could actually work on Fuze or the machine. Fuze was also way laggier than Zoom.
I think generally speaking, Zoom is very well suited in our work environment and in my personal life. I think in an organization like ours where we are 7500 people, where we are in 23 countries Zoom seems to be the best and most reliable fit.

On a personal level, I used Zoom to announce the gender of my child. I had family all across the world using different platforms and also, these people were not very technical. We were able to install and use Zoom and our family watched the announcement.
