It is very well suited for a mid-level organization that has limited data and that does not require very complex analysis by integration with other software and data analysis. It is also very good to have a holistic view of financial analysis, accounts payable, receivables, payroll management, and other financial areas. It would not be very suitable when it requires integration with other software and tools, this could be one area of improvement. It can have better API's.

It is excellent for multiple groups or users with multiple activities at any one time, or for a single user wanting to have several project sections going on at any one time. It enables the user to keep things separate but all contained within a single portal, but it can become quite cumbersome relatively quickly.The bigger the organisation, the more consideration needs to be given to how exactly Trello is used to give the users the best experience, or even if multiple instances of the platform is necessary.

Pros

  • Excellent UI that is easy to use. All features are a breeze.
  • Because of the depth at which it has data, it can be used very well.
  • Its integration with other ERP software is also possible for better analysis.

  • Trello has an intuitive interface for organizing boards and tasks. The kanban-style layout of the boards is simple and logical - categories are arranged left to right, tasks are arranged from top to bottom. It only takes seconds to understand the goals of the interface with minimal experience needed.
  • The interactions within Trello feel natural and are consistent with what you would expect - double clicking to edit, drag and drop to move, etc. The interactions aid, rather than inhibit, my usage of Trello.
  • Theming - Trello allows users to theme their accounts/boards. When using multiple boards, it is awesome to not only customize the board to look and feel they way you want it to, but it also allows me to know exactly which board I am viewing at a glance.

Cons

  • The customer support is very slow because I have to wait for more than 3 to 4 working days in order to get the email back from the company although it is usually the standard. I hope they can provide some changes to it in the future.
  • It costs a bit more to understand how the software works.
  • Most of the UI is fine, except a few area that require training.

  • Trello is not as robust a product for the Windows environment, although the web interface is as functional as most users will need.
  • Trello does not make it easy to completely delete content. The archive function is useful but sometimes you just want to get rid of something completely.
  • Trello does note currently offer an offline editing function which would be very useful.

Trello is ridiculously simple to use. Its user interface is well designed. Buttons and labels are clear, so you can tell at glance what something means. Plus, it's easy to back out of anything if you don't like what you've done, so there is no fear of messing things up unintentionally.

For our small business, getting a few of us started well on Trello was the key, I think. As long as a couple of us were really comfortable with the interface, we could lead others and help them with any questions. From now on, anyone who works with us just naturally uses Trello for information sharing - it's just part of what we do.

Alternatives Considered

24SevenOffice has its own pros and cons just like any other software. It is a great software for an organization to do project management or financial management. It stacks up very competitively against others and is probably in the top 3. the UI that is offered by this software surpasses all the others that I have used and/or mentioned above. It is a breeze to understand most parts of the software by yourself. I think in terms of support there could be some improvement that can be possible and will result in much better feedback from its clients. Overall I give it a great rating in terms of usability and capability to handle the majority of business management, project management, and financial management features.

Trello is better than the other two mentioned in my opinion because of its flexibility as a tool, as well as its price (or lack thereof). We used the other two tools for a while before Trello and left them because of pricing (having to pay per user or per project) and because of their confusing interfaces that made it hard for us to share access to our clients without showing them everything we were doing and processing.

Return on Investment

  • the ROI on this software is definitely positive. It saves time on accounting and bill payments.
  • The corporate structure uses this system for managing employee expenses that are borne by the company and keeps accurate results of all expenses
  • Overall a great software that can be used for a long-term basis for mid-level complexities.
