The features and options available in Adobe Campaign are extensive. We use it to run our marketing campaigns across multiple types of devices. It covers all the bases from e-mail, mobile, or a direct mail sent to a prospect, we can do it all. It is a great tool for just keeping track of things, coming campaign elements and a history of what has occurred. Reporting could use some work and the amount of customization required is a bit steep.

Right On Interactive

Right On Interactive is well suited if you need to bring in lots of data from numerous sources and be able to reference across tables to build a detailed segment. This also lends it to being more useful when a company has people that know data and have the time to dive deep into it to build lists. For teams without multiple people or dedicated people to use the system it can be cumbersome.

Cons

Adobe Campaign

  • Package deployments. It requires administrator rights in order to deploy into an environment. We do not want changes directly in a production environment so deployments are a bottleneck since only a few have access.
  • User audits. It is difficult or impossible in certain cases to determine who started/executed/made changes to a workflow. There's no easy way to roll back changes.
  • Troubleshooting errors. For more complex workflows, when they do fail, it is not easy to figure out what caused the failure.

  • The interface is improving in recent months but it still has a way to go to catch up to competitors.
  • The system seems to be reactionary when building out campaigns instead of more proactive. You can go through the entire campaign setup and forget to check one box at the very start and have to go all the way back to just pull in a piece of personalized data.
  • Could use more integrations with marketing softwares.

We feel that Neolane really adds value to our organization and has allowed marketing to progress - storing databases more efficiently, sharing campaigns across the world, pushing leads directly into our CRM system. We are very invested in the tool since we took a good bit of time to customize it, so I anticipate we will renew our use.

I would say that generally the knowledge of the support team we work with is good, great even.I can't say that they seem to be very interested or involved in trying to make the product work best for us.They do what needs to be done, and they do it well - but not really going the extra mile.

We evaluated Salesforce Marketing Cloud, IBM Marketing Cloud, Pitney Bowes Engage One before settling on Adobe Campaign through a vendor selection process. Adobe Campaign was most appealing because of their on-premise/hybrid offering. This allowed us to keep data on site. Our privacy and security teams have reservations on storing personally identifiable information in the cloud. This is particular important for sensitive information that could be used for segmentation.

  • It saved us a bunch of money in getting a higher tier of SFDC. The workflows it allowed us to create (using their staff writing MySQL) saved us having to double our SFDC spend to get workflows.
  • It allowed us to easily send emails to people added into SFDC campaigns buy external sales staff which saved time from manual emails.
  • The time it took the marketing team to create the campaigns could've been faster.
