Utilizing Arm Treasure Data will definitely help in creating better customer experience or centricity within your organization. It's very important to build a team that has many members all throughout your organization, purely focused on the customer data platform as this platform and the use cases that go along with it are a beast. But, definitely, it has been paying off.

  • Arm Treasure Data's audience studio is an intuitive tool for marketers who don't have any engineering or coding experience to start building audience segments for external activation purposes.
  • Treasure Data also is constantly innovating and adding features to their product that fit each customer's specific business model and use cases. Their customer success reps are an extension of our team who understand how to leverage their technology to solve our business problems.
  • Treasure Data makes client education one of their key focuses. Their Treasure Data University product is very insightful for marketers who aren't familiar with this new technology.

Treasure Data

  • Pricing is a bit of a black box. We are currently priced on split hour usage and some spikes come out of nowhere and leave us seeking answers (and sometimes finding unsatisfactory ones).
  • Some jobs will fail, causing workflows to be interrupted due to a product change or a one-time product related issue. We usually contact Support in these cases, and while they are incredibly responsive and helpful, it would be great to have more proactive communication.
  • Treasure's UI leaves us wanting more in terms of organization and controls, especially as we scale and grow the number of data sources, queries, and workflows.

I do think that we definitely will be renewing. We are putting major resources, time, and effort into Arm Treasure Data becoming an extension of our organization, in many ways. We are working toward complete synergies with this product and leadership is very excited about the direction we are heading to be completely customer-centric.

Overall I really like the Adobe Experience Cloud after a couple years of figuring out various tools. They are extremely powerful. The time commitment to learn them is high since it's not a tool you can easily begin using without much training.

If you are a data person, you will likely understand the product and how to use it well. We did find that some of our queries run into memory issues though. If you are a marketer and want to build easy audience segments, I am not sure how easy it will be for you. We are still working through this.

Adobe has support at all levels and for each product but beyond tool questions you'll often be told they can help but it requires some paid consulting hours. So you either hire Adobe consultants or find 3rd part consultants who know their products well.

The technical team has a good hold on the nuances of the data related to our organization. I have found the online technical support on their site quite responsive including the L1 support. In cases where the L1 team isn't able to resolve, I have found they are prompt in getting the product team's input to get a quick resolution.

In most cases we have found Adobe products to be harder to use but offer a lot more capabilities. In some cases Adobe products are missing key, basic functions. Adobe does offer a more holistic toolset rather than buying pieces of the puzzle and having to integrate on your own but that results in paying for a higher price tag.

We felt that Treasure Data was far beyond the reaches of Looker and Stitch. The full integrations, easy to work with staff, and the overall culture of helping customers was our draw to Treasure Data. This has helped us to get up-to-speed, with a very minimal staff, providing insight and data around our full business, with only one or two people working on the platform - part-time.

  • It enables us to do things that no one else our size can do, and which cause bigger vendors like Google with BigQuery to get very uncomfortable when I tell them we can do everything they consider core USPs.
  • The most direct impact on ROI is supporting the creation and syndication of audiences to ad platforms based upon behavioural data which can only be stitched together between several sources (Shopify and Zendesk and Segment).
