Qlik Sense® is a self-service BI platform for data discovery and visualization. It supports a full range of analytics use cases—data governance, pixel-perfect reporting, and collaboration. Its Associative Engine indexes and connects relationships between data points for creating actionable insights.
In short, license availability and familiarity with the tool amongst the immediate team. Some of us also had the opportunity to use Qlik Sense in the past at previous shops but since we had the ability to rapidly use Alteryx without going through the while vendor process, we …
KNIME and Trifacta are also very good advanced solutions but the easy to use user interface of Alteryx makes it more appealing. I still use KNIME or Trifacta for few of my projects.
We have used different BI Reporting tools, but overall, Qlik Sense [has been used longer]. Customers are really happy with the dashboards we made through Qlik Sense.
Qlik Sense has strong data modeling capabilities and it's patented associative engine gives a good advantage over the other market leaders. Qlik Sense can handle large amounts of data and can be easily adaptable compared to others. Self-service BI is another aspect which we …
Useful when attempting to automate a process that is done manually, as long as the process/steps can be defined logically. It’s saved me huge amounts of time when collating information from numerous files into a single report, which is very easy to set up and runs extremely quickly. It’s also helpful when several different reports need to be created in one go, e.g. an Excel file for each country - it just takes the click of a single button to generate all those files, it’s like magic. Less useful when users need to interact with the data to review/interpret it - a dashboarding tool such as BI/Tableau may be required for that, but Alteryx can still be useful for preparing the data that feeds into it.
For example, you can make detailed sales analyzes of a product group on the basis of countries and years. As I wrote before, specifically; I'm analyzing the market sale information of household products depending on region and country. In Qlik Sense we developed a dashboard that helps us to reach more trend information and product needs country by country. And then we reshape our product specifications and futures for specific regions. Thus, we can increase our market share. I also use a dashboard that tracks projects' resources, critical milestones, and timelines. All projects can be viewed by everyone at the same time.
Pulling data from multiple disparate data sources.
Allows users to see the data at every step of the workflow to be able to cleanse, analyze, and optimize the data.
Provides an analytics platform that is easy for users of all levels to thrive in whether they are just starting out in their analytics journey or they have a master's degree in Data Science.
The intelligent technology of Qlik Sense educates us to be much more accurate in each of the processes that we build, that is to say that this program is an accomplice to manipulate our data.
One of the greatest virtues that this program offers us is that it considerably increases the speed with which we can act and the efficiency of our operations.
A larger library of data sources being leveraged/licensed through Alteryx directly similar to the Experian and Dun & Bradstreet data that is available now would be ideal for additional data enrichment.
The ability to take R and Python-based data insights/model outputs/forecasts/etc. and pull directly into downstream tools and reporting is a bit lacking and could use improvement.
Data analysis in data groups is of great help that allows us to visualize impressive results, however, these tools that are so useful and tremendous to us are not easy to use.
Windows are not very friendly or intuitive.
The support or customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
We've developed a working partnership with Alteryx. As an enablement suite, we're continuing to innovate and deliver great products with use of Alteryx in our solutions. Alteryx use expands to our global product development teams and is in use in multiple parts of our organization. Alteryx also delivers Experian demographic content to other clients in their product offering. We're highly likely to renew, but that decision is way above my pay grade.
Qlik Sense is a constantly improving it's software and working with its' users to make it better. They are great at keeping their users informed of progress and care about delivering a quality product
I've found that while some things might take a little longer to create, the flexibility of Alteryx allows you to perform any function needed. I haven't found a use that was not available in Alteryx yet. APIs and XMLs can be created to perform certain functions. In addition, CMD line commands can be sent using Alteryx to perform certain functions as well.
Standard user interface and powerful analytic functions is GREAT. As technical person working in the background there are more things to do to make this a completely great tool. Some functions that should be standard requires consult scripting and hours. Now we are using it quite advanced and with many servers and in combination with QlikView. So overall I love the tool. But it could be better and user friendly and powerful in the background
I use many programs and compared to others, Alteryx virtually never goes down, freezes up or gives an application error. Over a 4 year time period that I have used this program, any of these may have happened 3 times. It is an incredibly stable program that I feel completely confident in.
Most of my workflows run efficiently and without errors but there are times when establishing a new workflow on server that the vaguest errors can through leading me down a rabbit hold to resolve what may inevitably turn out to just be a character string is too long for the database to accept but the error thrown says nothing about that and simply "Error Push Record". As stated though, a majority of times the workflows run quickly and as expected.
Stellar, bar-none. Some of the best support folks of any vendor. The Alteryx Community is the most responsive and supportive. On the rare occasion of a release issue or bug, we've been able to get quick help to solve the core problem. Alteryx does not play the blame game. They genuinely help the users solve their issues or respond to questions
Not only can you ask the support team for help, but you can also ask the community. Also with the community there is a vast amount of problems that have already been solved. The problem you are encountering has a likely chance of already being discussed and even solved in the community section saving you time from reaching out.
There is really not much to it (the installation, that is). Once you get it installed, along with any of the add-ons (demographics, R, etc.), you are up and running almost immediately. There is really no additional setup. You can immediately begin blending data, running demographics, performing spatial queries, running predictive analysis, etc. And for many of these functions, the learning curve is quite easy.
Knime is open source and free. It also positions itself a little on machine learning. But the user experience and the features available are far less powerful than Alteryx. I was a former user of Lavastorm (ancestor of Infogix Data360) and got acquainted with the low-code graphical approach thanks to this tool. RapidMiner is the Alteryx for machine learning, but is not at all as tooled as Alteryx for data prep. I also like to use Orange BioLab which is really for machine learning and offers an excellent low-code/graphical user experience... on top of being free.
The customization of the platform opens up plenty of other options depending on the use cases. The API layer is incredibly rich and makes integration of Qlik based visualization into web pages a simple and effective pattern. It's been very easy to use with a great community made up of professionals. Qlik Sense has introduces artificial Intelligence into my data visualization and reporting activity.
Individual analysts can quickly generate results using their own copy of Alteryx Designer. But using the Server and developing macros for more complex needs can be time consuming.
Alteryx is well acknowledged as an excellent BI tool and can do so many things. But we believe we have been able to elevate the capability of Alteryx to a brand-new field of process automation. We have seamlessly integrated the Alteryx with our major Production Software 3D CAD to fully take advance of the power of Alteryx not only for data prep, blend, analyze, and also perform data processing with industry design rules and logic, and then update the 3D CAD Model directly with API. Furthermore, the stability and repeatability are critical to our business and , our solution with Alteryx can offer them without doubt.
The direct impact on revenue has not been attributable or measurable because every dashboard or data set on Qlik Sense is just a reflection of what has gone wrong or where we missed an opportunity
The subscription amount was a burn on our cash reserves as it was a year-long subscription
