Likelihood to Recommend Amazon Cloud Drive is a fantastic backup solution for storing your digital files on the web, but if you want to manage, tweak, organize or otherwise maintain those files after they have reached the cloud, the experience immediately begins to suffer. This is especially noted when major competitor products like Microsoft and
Dropbox offer similar services at similar prices, but offer far better interfaces for file management.
Read full review It is the most appropriate tool to quickly share documents with someone you don't want to give access to your company's own online library, yet you have to share files. It's great that there's no need to create a user, nor for uploading or downloading files. Just have in mind that the documents on the link have an expiration day!
Read full review Pros Amazon Drive automatically detects photos and videos in specific folders (that you choose). It will add them to Drive without any action from me. There is a desktop app where you can access all of your files (in addition to web-based access). Read full review WeTransfer is very fast for uploading & downloading. WeTransfer allows you to see if the document was opened by the recipient & how many times. WeTransfer allows you to password protect documents. WeTransfer is extremely secure & safe to use. Read full review Cons Less storage than Google Drive, Google offers 15GB of free space - vs. Amazon's 5GB. Also, unlike with Google Drive, you can't back up your work with Amazon Drive ( I also use Google Drive, since I have a Gmail account). A lot more expensive than Google Drive, which is 1.99/month...but they are more in line with Dropbox pricing. Read full review The price for Pro is a bit high. A way for free users to save an address book. The offline app isn't as robust as the web client. Read full review Usability The system is very easy to use and it's use of apps for almost all devices and hardware makes it even easier to manage and store photos and documents. I highly recommend this as an easy to use solution for novices!
Read full review As noted previously, sometimes it can take more than once to upload and share a file if you are using Chrome. It doesn't happen often but of course it always seems to when we are on a really tight deadline. It just takes patient in those cases
Read full review Performance It is safe but has little added value.
Read full review WeTransfer is extremely reliable 99% of the time. There has been twice in 4 years that their service was unavailable due to server outage for several hours.
Read full review Support Rating Overall great software to use for file share, storage, and collaboration. Its security is great and the user management is spot on. The only thing that makes me dock it a point is that the device management as a subset of user management is kind of clunky. It hasn't been an issue yet, but it could compromise security in the future. Overall, would recommend
Read full review I've only reached out to WeTransfer support once, but they were prompt, courteous, and answered my question. I assume that future interactions would be the same, I'm looking forward to being a long term customer.
Read full review Alternatives Considered Amazon Drive Cloud has the advantage of being backed by one of the companies that has had the highest growth in recent years: Amazon. That gives us security and has been the main reason for us to trust this product. We believe that the security systems of this company are good enough to be quiet while our files are stored on their servers
Read full review Dropbox is too complex and unreliable to use. I have had many headaches with files not downloading properly, going missing or not opening. I have to spend a lot of time to figure out what I need to do. And just as you think you have everything under control, you set up a nice work environment with organized folders, you realize your storage space is up anyway! Since I've discovered WeTransfer, I never went back to
Dropbox .
Read full review Return on Investment It slowed us down at first since we went from purely agile to document based then agile. It is easy to use so even non-developers can access code snippets which they wouldn't know how to access on github. It has a lot of features we don't have a use for in our business. Read full review I haven't paid for this software personally, so I'm not sure, but $12/month is very reasonable if you are constantly sharing files. WeTransfer is fairly professional, so in my opinion, links sent to clients look more professional than using a link from Google Drive or Dropbox. Read full review ScreenShots
