Overall Satisfaction with Amazon Drive

Once we realized it was included in our Prime membership, we dropped the competition (Dropbox) that we were paying for and started using Amazon Drive. We use it to share files across departments and physical locations, i.e. design files that are used to build new products that can be commonly shared between the design team and the production team.
  • They keep our files secure and safe
  • They let us drag and drop our files with ease
  • While it's easy to edit permissions of users, device management isn't as easy as we'd like, and file security is extremely important
  • Our files are not ours if we were to ever end our corporate Prime membership
  • We've been able to reduce the time to market for new products because of collaboration ease.
  • Finding files for meetings has become much easier.
We're already inside the Amazon portal so often for sourcing, the cloud storage was an easy extension. It is included in our Prime membership so it was an easy option. Furthermore, the functionality is beyond simple, helping to sell the software internally and gain support for its adoption. It's easy to access files remotely for quick response times from our staff.
Overall great software to use for file share, storage, and collaboration. Its security is great and the user management is spot on. The only thing that makes me dock it a point is that the device management as a subset of user management is kind of clunky. It hasn't been an issue yet, but it could compromise security in the future. Overall, would recommend.

Yes

Are you happy with Amazon Drive (discontinued)'s feature set?

Yes

Did Amazon Drive (discontinued) live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Amazon Drive (discontinued) go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Amazon Drive (discontinued) again?

Yes

Solid drag and drop functionality that is easy to use and teach others to use. Files are based in the cloud so if you have a remotely distributed workforce, they can easily access them and you can manage the permissions accordingly. If you have a full enterprise operation, Sharepoint might be better for your workforce. Amazon Drive is better suited for small and mid-sized businesses.
