Chrome River has a modern UI/UX that is intuitive to new users.
Chrome River is a true enterprise (4K+ employees globally) expense management solution.
Internal administration options allow most requests to be handled in-house; however the CR help desk has been very good to work with when a more complex request comes up.

Cons

Filtering flights by average on-time reliability is not available.
Permissions can be tricky for approvers. It's not always easy to see what your team is doing.
Google Calendar integration is flawed -- it keeps adding events for time you've approved but does not signify who the travel is for.

It would be great to have the ability to adjust scanned images for improved clarity.
Emburse could work on solving issues faster and keeping the customer informed as to the status.
The ability to lock certain features on "People" from being updated, but not the entire profile.

Chrome River is easy to use. We needed little training for our users and instead pointed them to Chrome River's Help Guides which are clearly written and easy to understand. With tools SNAP and the ability to email receipts means we can be completely remote when submitting reports.

We have had those that can't believe the ease of use and excellent user interface, many required little to no training. Others required more support, but most likely require a lot of systems support. The mobile app looks exactly the same as the desktop app, therefore the navigation is the same. This is a huge plus for adoption and change management.

Support is the absolute best part of the platform. Users who have any issues at all are free to contact AmTrav and work through a solution. Missed flights or emergency car rentals are a breeze -- all that needs to be done is to call the AmTrav support number and a solution is worked out with minimal involvement.

I think support could be better, before Emburse took over we were able to use the dashboard to help with issues, which has been down for months now. We had a point person who would help up with issues and now we just get whoever. Also, when we need help for something it seems like we are being sold something instead of being helped. Every change now costs money even if it is an issue with the software which I don't feel should be a charge to the client.

Before implementation begins, make sure you have a plan on how you would like your workflow and platform setup for a system like Chrome River. It will speed the process and eliminate the need to make changes when you go live.

Alternatives Considered

AmTrav excels in customer service. They have won us over by proving that, when in times of need, they can get the job done. If an employee has an issue, it can be a very stressful time for both the employee and the travel booking managers. AmTrav takes the responsibility in a way that we haven't seen demonstrated before and organises a fix.

Chrome River [EXPENSE] is globally deployable. Furthermore, a good connection between cytric Travel and Chrome River [EXPENSE] is available and working smoothly. Additionally, travel data are transferred into Chrome River [EXPENSE]. We installed a connection to our credit card provider. Chrome River [EXPENSE] fits best in our IT landscape and we detected a better connection to SAP than competitors.

Chrome River EXPENSE makes it faster and easier for users to create and approve expense reports saving time that can be used elsewhere.
Chrome River EXPENSE compliance rules allow us to insure policies are being followed.
Audit & review of expenses is much faster saving time and money.
