For startups or companies who needs to get big amounts of data but at the same time have some insights about their prospects and leads is the best tool, it provides easy to use tools and interface that makes it simple to any user withut any level of experience, also great with data analysis for small companies.

Intercom is well suited for connecting internal personnel with external individuals and those externals to specific individuals or teams within the organization. Intercom also does a good job at allowing multiple resources to direct communication in the right direction, whether that be a transfer internally or directing initial communication requests to the appropriate resources. Intercom is not always the best-suited platform for reaching out to external individuals because of the inability to know the availability of who you are trying to reach.

  • Allows you to make cold calls from different area codes that are relevant to where your prospect is located
  • Allows A/B testing for emails so you can figure out which ones are gaining the most traction
  • You can also find prospects based off of title, company, technologies, etc

  • In-app communication: I can deploy tours, banners, checklists, tooltips, posts, and surveys in a matter of minutes.
  • Knowledge Hub: I can write and publish a help article that can then be used to train the Fin AI agent to deliver accurate answers to our customers.
  • Communicating in context with service/sales agents and customers: the Help Desk makes it simple for sales and service agents to pull me into a conversation with a customer to resolve product-related issues.

  • Their customer service is just terrible. You get an assigned account manager but 9/10 times they wouldn't know what you wanted and/or how the product works or how to fix it. Vast majority of the time it was a canned response that made you question if they read the message, or if they read it and did not understand a word.
  • The software was relatively buggy and lacked features that were promised upon signup. They seem to have some large corporate clients and if you aren't one none of your bug submissions, feature requests, or concerns will be addressed.
  • Their growing quickly so they seem to be very understaffed which I believe caused many of the issues above.
  • The data, while good, can quickly run out if you're looking for specific types of leads. If you're looking for something generic like Managers at companies between 10-5000 people, you can pull leads all day every day. However if you're looking for a specific industry, specific title, and specific location - don't count on having an endless supply of leads (or even really enough to use month after month).

We have been and will be continuing our journey with Intercom and nothing too concerning has happened that I have experienced or heard of that has us on the edge yet. If it ever happens it will be something along the lines of "Outgrowing" the use of need of the platform.

Apollo.io is very helpful for any sales team. It is a great way to create a large database of mostly accurate contacts. This has been very helpful for my sales team as we are constantly reaching out to prospects via phone and email and looking to be as strategic as possible which Apollo.io helps us with.

Intercom is one of the most user friendly tools I've used. Its vast array of features can make it a bit complex to use, or keep up with, at times. However, the customer support team is brilliant and always answers my queries fast and with easy-to-follow instructions.

I received excellent support at any time I opened up a ticket. But I would add to it that the tool was very self-explanatory, so there wasn't much need for support. With Outreach, we have a closer relationship with our CSM because of the intricacy in things like SFDC task mapping.

Intercom is the premier customer support/engagement model and it definitely has one of the top tier customer support teams as well. I don't think I have ever waited more than 5 minutes to get the information I need or get help with an issue. They are incredible and I aim to model our customer service department after them.

Apollo is inexpensive of all the above tools. Data accuracy of other tools like lintel and infotelligent is much much better but they are expensive also. One needs to be careful while using data from Apollo because email bounces can damage your domain reputation. I suggest you use a different SMTP server while sending mail.

The product was too focused on "tickets," and we wanted to focus more on "conversations." Intercom shows that thinking across the whole app was a no-brainer for us. Zendesk's pricing is a bit higher for what they deliver, but the ease of integration with our platforms was key, too.

  • The ROI was positive but we decided to stop using the tool
  • We loved how easy to use it was and how easy it was to interact with the Support team
  • There is room for improvement in the video tutorials - they were from old versions of the software that would not be useful for the version at hand

  • Faster customer onboarding: When we identified our biggest conversion factors, we were able to set up an onboarding sequence that helped people get started and converted faster.
  • Adoption: It's much easier to showcase a new software feature. We build out a post and a tour for any new software features and prompt it to show up the first time they log in, all through Intercom.
  • Money: It's saved us money in the long run considering how many softwares we would have needed to use in order to get the same features offered in Intercom.
