AVI-SPL vs. Tata Communications Managed Services

Our first experience with AVI-SPL was good. Communication started early in the process and continued throughout. It was an easy back and forth, and it never felt like anything was being forced. This was a relatively small purchase to outfit a new building complex with all-in-one video conferencing units from Neat and wall mounted screens, with video to ethernet options. Our sales representative worked within the scope we provided and didn't try to upsell. They also found us the best pricing available for our scenario

• Analyzed our physical soundstage from architect drawings and made recommendations tailored to our space.
• Fast email response and call-backs from their consultants - we never had to wait. They get back before the day ends.
• They remember us as a valued client, even if months go by between purchases. We never have to be reintroduced.
• Invoicing is clear and concise with no mystery charges - always matches the quotes.

• AVI-SPL could serve to be more clear when a solution to someone's problem exists in some kind of product or service they offer. Sometimes it's like pulling teeth to figure out that a solution that seems too convenient to not be thought of before actually already exists somewhere.
• AVI-SPL could make information a bit more consistent from technician to technician regarding each site specifically.

They are a great company to work with overall, but there is always room for improvement. We have had incredibly positive experiences with our main sales rep for any and all purchases. The installation team in southwest VA is lacking and lead to quite a lot of issues on a large scale project last year.

They had us replace the PC three times stating that the PSU was not strong enough to power the USB bus. The last PC had a 1500w PSU. The USB devices kept not working because they had too many USB devices connected. We had to hire another company to come out and fix this mistake as well. They redesigned the solution to get the features that we requested from the beginning and something that would work correctly

Because of the highly customized nature of our AV installation and the presence of vendor-provided onsite support, response time to our reports of a serious problem are generally handled expeditiously by highly-qualified, Tier 3 personnel. In the case of more typical installations that we have provisioned from AVI-SPL, turnaround usually takes longer, which can be frustrating at times.

Given a caveat that this project had major changes to overcome, I would say AVI-SPL did about as well as any large installer out there could do under the circumstances.

AVI SPL was selected for this project based on its competitive pricing. They were also chosen based on the timeliness of their proposal since our project was under a very specific deadline that we were given by our project leadership. They met the deadline and executed the project in a manner consistent with our quality standards.

• We are a service based industry. Supporting an environment that can accommodate large groups of people is key. When we moved to this building being able to have a space that can support 500 plus people was critical.
• The modularity of the room we built means we can support a single room of 250 plus or expand and overflow our meeting to over 500 attendees. It also means we can have two 250 person meetings running concurrently.
