Chanty is very good for networking messaging and low level collaboration between peers and colleagues. It's not great for video or voice calls or whiteboarding or file sharing.

Wrike

Wrike is a life saver! We were using multiple spreadsheets (one with approx. 60 columns), and multiple manual reports, and were blind to what others were doing. Using blueprints, automation, request forms, reporting, and calendars, I can successfully manage over 50 projects at one time. We also keep templates, specs, and notes all in Wrike. We have even installed Wrike in our Teams and can look at tasks due. Truthfully, if you are using spreadsheets for tasks or projects, use Wrike. If you are using Microsoft Excel to analyze something and it's a one time thing, then Microsoft Excel might be a better option

Wrike

  • Wrike's options to set dependencies keep projects moving automatically without occupying the project manager's time to update each assignee that a task is ready to move forward.
  • Every member of the team has full visibility into every project in the space, allowing us to be a highly efficient, nimble team.
  • Tagging options make projects easy to find within the workspace, and we've found this helpful when assigning projects to our AGILE sprints.
  • Gantt charts quickly identify workload overload, and it helps our team to balance workloads effectively.
  • Dashboards are fully customizable for both reports and team management, which we use during our sprint planning sessions.
  • Blueprints make duplicating repeated project roadmaps lightening fast, saving time in building road maps for our project managers.

Cons

Chanty

  • Ability to call group members
  • Ability to video members
Marc Duke | TrustRadius Reviewer

Wrike

  • It is a system that has allowed us to be more efficient and fluid internally, but the price is a determining factor, since it increases every year, and compared to other similar software it is at a disadvantage, but it may not be at a disadvantage in functions and results, but in price yes it is.

After implementing Wrike, it was immediately clear that the business could not return to a "before" state. Efficiency and collaboration improved tenfold, and the time spent on project management was fractioned. It enabled us to improve processes throughout the entire company, from sales and marketing, to design, to operations, and enabled the seamless integration of outside contractors which allowed us to scale easily to meet demand.

Wrike was difficult to learn at first. But with videos, emails on tips and tricks, I've been able to adapt. However, it's been difficult to convince other departments to use the program as it can be a bit overwhelming at first. I don't know what the solution is, other than to keep using it. Perhaps a template as a start for newbies?

Over two years of (almost) daily usage without outages. Don't remember any errors. I give it 9 only because some Wrike plugins (for online document edit) are based on NPAPI architecture. These types of plugins are being phased out in new browsers, and NPAPI plugins are disabled by default in recent versions of Chrome so you have to do some browser adjustments when you switch browsers or move to another computer.

For the most part, Wrike works very well. Every so often, the Apple/Mac application can be slow to load. Sometimes it requires a refresh and it is working fine again. I have not figured out if it is the software or just a computer issue

I have been sent quite a few emails about functionality and support on a pretty regular basis, which is great. I have not had any need to contact support as the platform is pretty simple to use, it was easy to download and install and I have not encountered any bugs or other issues so far.

Wrike's customer support is top-notch! There are so many ways to get answers from Wrike - from their blog, videos online, community forum, contacting customer support. Whatever way you choose, you'll have an answer within 24 hours, often within just a few hours. I love my customer success manager because she meets with me via Zoom every quarter to show me new product updates, tips and tricks, and talk through any issues or wishes I have with the system. She then provides me with regular status updates on product suggestions I've made. It's awesome!

We initially had online training. A trainer took us through various training sessions where we learned about all of the tools Wrike provides. This alone allowed us to learn and set up the software and roll it out to our team. Later, a customer service rep stopped in for some one on one training which was extremely helpful.

Wrike does a great job of provide a breadth of videos for learning their program. This includes a 'getting started' sett of videos along with a collection of more in depth videos to assist more experienced users. Combined with their excellent chat support learning wrike is easy and it includes easy access to best practices.

I think it's really about developing a relationship with your Wrike partners, in tandem with your key stakeholders. Once everyone is on the same page, it makes implementation easier. Also, make sure you put a LOT of thought into your Wrike Knowledgebase, clearly plan how you are going to support your users with the key information and answers they will ask

Alternatives Considered

Chanty

In terms of file sharing and speed of collaboration, I find that Slack is quicker and integration into Google Drive is very handy when it comes to working on documents, I have not seen Chanty do this. As for video Google Hangouts is as simple as it gets; again, I have not seen anything from Chanty in this area. I have also looked at and use https://guild.co/ which is much easier messaging and collaboration wise. The app and notification for Chanty is pretty good but it's loading time is slower compared to Slack and WhatsApp.

Wrike

We use Wrike because the company had picked that before I got there. Personally, I'd probably use Trello for the simplicity but we're too deep into using Wrike to really justify a large change in PM software. Overall, it's not bad. It's competitive and requires work to hit your goals. If you are a poor communicator or don't keep up to date with your tasks, any software is going to be bad for you.

Based on our experience, Wrike is very scalable. Our only issue is that you have to by seats (licenses) in certain increments. For example, when we started using Wrike we only needed 3 seats but we could not purchase any less than 5 so we were paying for 2 extra seats that weren't being used. We still currently have an extra seat open.

  • Wrike decreased the time spend managing tasks and projects by roughly 40%, allowing me to have much more time for other projects. And, there are ways to improve efficiency even more - if we fully used them, it would save probably 60% of project management time.
