Emburse Chrome River is great for tracking the everyday expenses of credit card users within an organization. I would recommend the program to others because of how easy it is to track the transactions of your employees or any other company cards you use. It works very well for automatic payments, such as monthly bills, and works well for tracking expenses with employees who have a personal card.

It's definitely well suited for all organizations with knowledge workers who use computers to do their work and are able to log in and enter their time on a regular basis. I've always had access to it as part of my job and love using SpringAhead. It may be less appropriate in a role where the worker does not have regular access to a computer to enter their hours digitally.

  • [Emburse] Chrome River listens to its customer's needs and does its best to match current products to those needs, or collaborate internally to determine if an enhancement can be made available that will not only benefit that customer, but will be a good use case for all Chrome River customers.
  • The [Emburse] Chrome River customer service team is great. Unlike most companies, you can speak to a liver person!
  • [Emburse] Chrome River's training offerings are relevant and pertinent to the day to day operations of the software.

  • Allows for tracking of time very easily. Users can add all their project's time in one place instead of drilling into each project.
  • Managers can approve their team's time all in one place. We do not need to drill down to find the info and approve. Users who don't report to the manager but are part of the project can still be approved by the project manager.
  • Reports are easy to read when looking at historical information. Reports can be run with multiple parameters that the user needs.

  • The analytics are not to user friendly. The ad-hoc reporting is very complicated, as the headers do not clearly indicate what you are going to get in the report.
  • It would be nice is when you hovered over the "add expense" (plus with a circle) button, it told you what it does. End users have a hard time finding the e-wallet in their report when it doesn't automatically open.

Chrome River is easy to use. We needed little training for our users and instead pointed them to Chrome River's Help Guides which are clearly written and easy to understand. With tools SNAP and the ability to email receipts means we can be completely remote when submitting reports.

Very easy to track, approve, and manage expenses across the organization. The user interface is streamlined and easy to learn even as a beginner. The [enterprise-level] support is exceptional and was one of the best I've seen in the industry. I also loved how easy it was for us to integrate car rentals and business trip expenses.

Emburse Certify has a wonderful level of customer service and support, starting with their Customer Support Managers who personally oversee accounts and reach out to clients to help them on their journey. Emburse Certify also has a 24/5 team of Customer Support Agents standing by to assist users with issues, errors, or questions on their software. Considering the recent challenges of remote working, their Agents have done a good job at responding to emailed tickets. Unfortunately, I have not been able to call in and speak to an agent since early 2020 and I have found that one particular Customer Support Agent was rather rude when responding to a continuous issue of website availability, the person going so far as to demand that I take a video of my computer when receiving a website time out error (an issue that Certify has been addressing and aware of this year).

We selected SpringAhead because of price and usability. This tool is easy to set up and configure. It is a cloud application allowing access from anywhere. There were no training requirements. When you have a small use case this tool is the way to go. We moved off SpringAhead to get more functionality and it has required a lot more training and effort to maintain and utilize
