Cisco Routers vs. ManageEngine OpManager

Sometimes our Cisco Routers aren't well suited; it's just in really small environments. To put just an at-home module, that's really the only time I can't really see it being used. Even in any situation, like a small office, like five to 10 people, even just putting a small router out there has its inherent benefits outside of just using a normal internet connection, like getting your local Comcast. So, as I said, it's very adaptive.

Manage Engine OpManager is better suited to serve server and network admins at organization to monitor their servers and network devices. It helps us with compliance with the reports available like utilization reports and capacity planning reports. It helps you to keep track of what all process are consuming the resources. It helps you in monitoring what is happening in your switches, routers and firewall

• In some cases it would be helpful if the Cisco Routers in UC mode would support FXO ports when connected to the Webex cloud for calling.
• When used as WGBs if there were more telemetry options that collect roaming stats OOB would help during troubleshooting efforts.
• Would love it if there is a CLI command to show the API endpoint for a given show command.

• Alerts has to be configured correctly otherwise unnecessary bombarding of alerts can cause inconvenience.
• The server on which ManageEngine OpManager is to be deployed should have higher resources as monitoring a large number of devices may slow down the performance of the system.
• Configuring the advanced features may require a learning curve.

We are extremely likely to renew, as we have been very happy with our Cisco Routers for over 10 years. Their uptime as well as stable nature makes them ideal for us, as we are an industry that cannot afford downtime. We trust our partner to recommend our next model Cisco, when the time comes.

This product works very well for our organization, and it would be hard to not have a tool like this going forward

The best thing about Cisco products is their presence in community. When you have a problem you can do quick search and find whoever else had the same question and expert answer for that question. Other thing is there are Cisco certified people we can find very easily if want some help with comissioning these products

The rating I provided is based on the product quality, experience (I have been using OpManager for almost the last 4 years), and relevance of the information/response I generated through Manage Engine OpManager. I have also received good support from OpManager.

Cisco support is very good. Of course, sometime you will run into support guy that isn't up to the task. Buf overall, the support system is well structure. You know if this support isn't able to help, you can esclate the situation to find another help. Also, their documentation is well developed and can be very useful.

At first, we were not able to add our Avaya switches to the configuration backup module, our partner tried to help, but they did not find the solution, we had one remote session with tech support of ME and they solve the problem.

Cisco Routers are the most reliable and stable internet edge routers ive used. They' have also always offered high performance for the most demanding traffic workloads. Lastly, from all of the various vendors I've used, Cisco routsrs have the best TAC support.

During our competitive analysis, we found ManageEngine OpManager was not expensive compared to other vendors. At the same time, there was no compromise on the features such as customized reporting or configuring alerts per our clientele's unique requirements. These are our client words "Other vendors ask us to pay more $$$ for enabling additional email alerts".

• Network management has become easy and fast with cloud based portal.

• I don't know if you can calculate ROI with a monitoring solution, there are more factors to calculate.
• We found a really big problem with a network switch (faulty transceiver) in a trunk configuration with OPManager. this caused us serial troubles with the overall network stability.
• We are loosing around € 3.000 to 5.000 per hour if our network is not working so this was a great help to fix this issue
• Our label printers are really important to monitoring in our warehouse system, this makes OPManager a great solution for that
