Comparison of CPQ features of Product A and Product B
ConfigureOne is user-friendly, even for people who have never used it before. It is straightforward and flexible to invent a solid CPQ platform and a useful sales and quoting tool. A simple-to-use program with ongoing help affects the user experience. Administrative training is well worth the cost for comprehensive and practical experience. We employ it throughout the entire process, from the quote to the final product. But there are some instances where the configuration process can take a long time to finish.
I think CPQ had worked so well for our company because of the widespread nature of our associates and tracking orders that were being placed in multiple time zones. My team specifically needed a way of analyzing these orders to track our progress in real time and sort out any supply orders before they became an issue. If you are in a centralized location with a smaller team then this may not yield much use to you.
We use Oracle Product Hub Cloud to manage our supply chain and increase productivity. This is an awesome tool to manage our customer database and reduce unwanted costs of product management and shipping. The way this tool is designed is really amazing because we can create a product easily and we can streamline ERP and our supply chain.
Allows the creation of an online catalog, where our customers can access from the customer portal and see all the products we have available, as well as their features, design, quantity, price, and more.
We can take in an orderly manner the entire process of the product from its creation to the categorization of products. The system has customer and proposal management, where we can access the files without problems or complications.
It has a tool for the design of products in 3D, which we love because we do not have to search in other files and programs for plans and designs.
Products and requirements are growing more complex than ever. Oracle's Agile Product Lifecycle Management helps you innovate profitably, with the broadest and most comprehensive solution to efficiently centralize product data, streamline processes, and launch quality products faster. Agile PLM is a strategic approach to managing the lifestyle of a product throughout its full value chain from initial requirements gathering through to design, prototyping, obtaining certification, product customization, service and retirement. Agile PLM emphasizes process efficiency, cross-functional collaboration in the extended enterprise, rapid innovation, rigorous quality control, risk mitigation, and cost-effectiveness.
The aspects that I like of Oracle Agile Project Management is that it helps foster collaboration between internal team members and vendors. All of our processes are documented on the platform, and the platform helps increase accountability across all internal teams. Collaboration is great in this tool.
Oracle Agile is a good product lifecycle management (PLM) software tool/database. Oracle Agile PLS is overall and for the most part, easy to use and has the ability to be customized and is able to provide visibility into the data that was entered into the database. This tool allows cross-functional teams to work on the same task at the same time, which is great when working remotely and/or working on an all remote team. Overall, this tool helped to accelerate product review, approval, and ultimately launch of new materials, therefore maximizing profitability and enhance product features and design as needed. The database is easy to use and does not require much training for someone who is technically savvy with other similar databases, and/or have used them in the past.
There lots of functionality and features in this product which gives you, as a company, great benefits to be able to manage your products portfolio. Easy to document products and have a way of looking up a product history and quality issues in the past. Better teamwork with pair engineering and co-located teams. Less documentation to restrict creativity, less time spent doing blind research, testing and feedback speeds up learning, and smaller more rapid improvements.
Significant setup time, cost, and maintenance. We have to use an implementation partner
Does not always play well with other software, even Oracle software. While this is improved and being further improved, that it was a third party acquisition means things sometimes require a little extra care
Additional setup documentation and first walkthroughs would be helpful, especially if it was all in one place
Agile PLM does not let us keep workloads properly balanced if we want to use more than one virtual network (VCN, specifically), forcing us to work with a single network in which we manage the different levels of the work infrastructure. Although this is a drawback, it has helped us to adapt to more centralized methodologies.
So far it is all good with BigMachines, looking for new features since Oracle acquisition has created a lot of expectations. We have outlined our limitations (out of box functionality) in our periodic customer successor advice meetings for a while, hope we get a resolution soon. Also, the BigMachines user license fee has increased a lot in the last three years.
The software UI can be as complex or as simple as you need it to be (depending on the business). It does require training others on quote configuration and the order in which to build out order positions prior to configuring a quote. Once users are trained;however, it is fairly straight-forward. The UI is still more static than other new wizard/drag-and-drop models, but it get's the job done
It depends upon the day however there are so many failure points with online services, including our internet service, that this is probably closer to 9 with the latest version
Some specific support personal was good and fixed some problems fast using proper solutions. But when one of them went to sleep when we had critical issues and they do unreported commits to our production environment which caused issues and they were hiding it?? you can not give more than a two (maybe even that is too much). They also failed to add a feature for us which also bring the grade down.
They have pretty good training. Our business analysts have been able to go to entry and advanced level training. They have a train the trainer model. Our business analyst attended training, then trained the rest of our staff.
It was a much more technical implementation than we thought. It involved much more code.
Future releases have made and will make administering the tool easier.
EDL consulting had one good developer, but when he was moved off, they were horrible to work with.
The BMI sales team does a “BOA” or a “Business Operation Assessment” which is extremely valuable, not only for them to scope an implementation and get more reach within the organization, but it is also a documentation of business process that most organizations don’t have. It highlights inefficiencies and allows for correction during implementation.
Having a dedicated team (in-house) for implementation is key
Configure One is flexible in inventing a solid CPQ platform and a useful sales and quoting tool to understand our customers' needs better. It's extremely user-friendly and provides almost limitless customization options. It provides a diverse range of functions that allow users to customize their tools. The support staff is always available and knowledgeable. Because of its excellent service, we chose it over its competitors.
Oracle engagement is ahead. They are active in the development of the tool and provide great support after implementation. They also listen to their customers and offer opportunities to feedback and provide input through activities like the customer advisory board forum.
While considering oracle Product Hub Cloud, the most thing which attracted me toward it is that it provides a single, Best in class data management to deliver master product record that threads business process including cross chain compliance product introductions although it hasn't built a cloud product that the general market is looking for.
It meets our extensive and dynamic product quoting needs and access levels, creating customized product quotes with minimal clicks.
It is simple and flexible to create a solid CPQ platform, and a useful sales and quoting tool always adapt to the fast-changing technology trends.
It's very adaptable, and it's integrated with CRM and ERP tools, so it creates a seamless user experience and ensures that our workflow is consistent from start to finish.
Increased Sales Rep efficiency. Being able to create multiple quotes ACCURATELY and quickly was a game changer.
Large implementation time. It's a little difficult to fit BMI into a SCRUM style build, with multiple working models and prototypes of all 3 simultaneously.
A larger fee for licensing and implementation cost. ROI wouldn't be realized in the first year.
