I wouldn't suggest Crowdbasefor smaller companies, even for bigger companies a more integrated solution would be desirable. It may suit companies that want their collaboration separate from project management and CRM, but at least for our organisation it seems to make more sense to have most of our work tools in one place

I would not recommend Discord for the workplace, but rather recommend it for a network of gamers or people with a like-minded hobby who want to get together in a chat, and be able to use some coding/programming tools along the way. It definitely is great for the gaming community.

It is very limited
Although it has an API it doesn't link to the services we use.
It isn't customisable like podio.

I would say its overall usability is good, but it does take some getting used to and training on it. You cannot jump right in and understand it all. Someone had to explain it all to me and how the different functions and commands worked within the program and groups.

I haven't had to use support yet, but I do know from speaking with other users that the support is very responsive and plugged into the user base to improve the software and interface and features

Alternatives Considered

Crowdbase's strength may lie in its ability to do just one main thing well, but for us this was a massive limitation. I know that it is not trying to be Podio and it is therefore unfair to compare the two but there are features that overlap. for us Podio was better suited.

Discord is basically the version of Skype that you've always wanted. It makes it easy for you to chat with your friends, video call them, and make conference calls. It's a MUCH quicker system and does not seem to have such an impact on my hardware as well. Discord is doing things right when it comes to a chat system.

In the current climate, this has had huge success in delivering business objectives as it has been our main communication tool internally.
Negative Impacts we have had is that it has proved to be an efficient communication tool, negating the use of office space.
Has brought our teams closer together with remote workers.
