DemandTools is good for almost everything related to mass data manipulation. The only scenario I haven't tried using DemandTools and was recommended to use Data Loader for was inserting records while keeping the original created date. The issue was that we had a disconnection with an external messaging partner, and when the records were retrieved, a few days had passed since the original day of the incoming messages. To insert the messages while keeping the original created date, DataLoader was helpful. I am not sure how to do that in DemandTools. But again, for everything else, DemandTools is a lifesaver.

We have huge data coming in from different sources and also from multiple organizations in our Data centres. This data had multiple copies of the same data and was huge in size therefore, we wanted to have a solution in place which can help us with a good amount of deduplication at the deepest possible level to make sure that our ecosystem does not have multiple copies of the same data and is also efficient at the same time. Having said this, we wanted this solution to be secure and reliable since it had to be exposed to a huge critical set of data in the market. To add, backup and restoration was something that we were also keen on evaluating so that once we have efficient data within our system, the time it takes to backup and restoration also reduces. And all this was justified by this solution when we signed up with them. From the pricing perspective and the implementation side, the solution needs improvement to make it more efficient and user-friendly.

The Veeam on IBM Cloud functions [is] easy to set on the first time to use the platform and the effective capability on predictive disaster, easy to backup the most important data through the Veeam on IBM Cloud functionalities. I wish I could make changes to my existing scenarios using save rather than having to create a whole new scenario. Maybe you can, I just haven't been able to.
Some features aren't user intuitive and it takes a while to learn.

The reporting could use some work. If you have a client who has some serious audit controls in place, you may find yourself creating the report versus depending on the system do that piece for you.
My complaint would be with the notification emails. They are not configurable and come out regardless of whether a backup set completed or is still running.
The scheduling is a little clunky. It would be much nicer if the backup could be "continuous" anytime it's connected to the Internet (similar to Carbonite).

It's a great product. The only thing that holds us back is it was frustrating working with their sales team. We also don't like that when Validity purchased DemandTools they immediately started charging us quite a bit while it had been free for non-profit users when CRMFusion owned it. They also don't let you buy it for just 1 or 2 seats, you have to pay, I believe, in batches of 100 seats.

DD has performed flawlessly for almost 10 years as our backup/recovery storage with offsite replication. Given its track record and great support from EMC, we're unlikely to look elsewhere any time soon.

Veeam is very easy to use once fully on-boarded and trained. Part of the reason we can respond to a critical situation swiftly is that it is so easy to use. We did take 2 years to be fully comfortable with the product as we tested it with others, but once we committed to Veeam, there was no question about it.

Support can be slow so do not expect quick turn for urgent issues. Help for specific queries not not there. Product tech support is offered. It would be great if query support, even if paid, was offered The training webinars help with the basics but not much if you need advanced functionality.
Customer support has had some ups and downs here. We've had several issues with EMC support before and during the acquisition by Dell, but in the last 18 months support has been top notch. Quick and knowledgeable help is but a chat away, or they will call you back so you don't have to wait on hold. The team supporting us is responsive and is quick to assist with any request or issue.

At the moment I cannot say anything bad about the overall provided services. It's holding me back to put the mark even higher as other cloud solutions have their advantages as well, so I can't rate this one higher than competitor ones. However the experience is really positive to the moment and it has delivered always.

The trainings are free live webinars that give you a solid base for getting started with the program. The only weakness is they don't have any advanced classes.
I had just started using Salesforce about 3 months before I did the implementation myself, and it was easy to do just following their step-by-step instructions.
Though RingLead has much more to offer in terms of automation (and it is in Salesforce rather than a separate program), DemandTools still has our heart. DemandTools is very cost-friendly and we were able to increase the value of DemandTools by programming in additional saved scenarios. I decreased admin time in the DemandTools suite by approximately 25% after implementing saved scenarios for every reoccurring update or list upload.

Veeam BLOWS AWAY Veritas in terms of reliability, recoverability, and Especially PRICE! Veritas is literally thousands of dollar more than comparable Veeam Software. Veritas's support is virtually non-existent. I believe the only reason Veritas is even still in business is because of their reputation as the ONLY backup software a decade or more ago. If you use Veritas, I HIGHLY recommend throwing it away and trying out Veeam - You will NOT go back to Veritas!
