Devolutions Hub vs. ISL Light

The only reason I rank my recommendation so low is that I'm leery of password managers in general. The fact I used the product and continue to use it says a lot about how well made the product is.

For any remote management you need to do on your computer, file transfers, remote troubleshooting, connecting to the company's ERP to make changes, managing program updates, files we have on another computer and want to recover, guiding someone remotely in the use of a function of a specific program. For all these cases it works great. It allows you to use it as if you were at the computer itself, with great fluidity and ease.

• Automatically record support / remote sessions
• Allow UAC easy control remotely
• Auto-recognize the OS of the client, to download the correct remote file for them to execute
• Very fast connection speed (initial connect, and on-going session speed)
• Allowing us to use our own website AND the islonline.net in case there are issues

• Overall, it works well as is

• Need a control toggle at least on AlwaysOn. User moves the mouse and you lose all control instantly.
• Clipboard features are a bit wonky still, and your clipboard seems to get emptied a lot. So if you're trying to copy and paste you might lose something
• Passwords for the systems are saved per machine, so if you work from multiple devices it can be tricky if you have complex passwords

We are renew the license for 10 years now and we do not see why would change that. It just gets better with every new version.

Even non-techy people can install ISL Light's self-hosting server, and the clients are super easy to use. The maintenance of the client app is also super easy. Tools like marker, rubber pointer help the support desk people to explain things on the remote side effortless. Features like System information dashboard, which shows all important hardware stats, are very handy.

During the entere time of use, I have never come across any availability issues.

Extremely small footprint. No impact on system resources at all.

We had issues with mouse skipping on mobile devices. Support is immediatly availabe, they examined our case and in one of the new versions of the app this problem was gone.

Thycotic Secret Server (now rebranded to Delinea Secret Server) never worked well or on a reliable basis. The interface was confusing and not responsive. Fortunately, Devolutions Password Hub is the opposite of all of those things.

- Biggest turnoff for TeamViewer: The different version (Connection doesn't work if there are different versions running) - No password or such things needed, just a code which is automatically generated - Easy Modus to see UAC-Windows and complete administrative tasks - Stay connected even after a restart - Wide range of options and customization - Easy Interface and super maneuverability

Easy to deploy onto new devices. Ability to group devices so they can managed remotely efficiently.

• Password managers in general can leave a company feeling "overly" secure.

• Saves time: able to help our customers right-away. No need to visit them physically
• Fastest aid in problem-solving: customer happy and more likely to return
• Negative: not much negativity about ISL Light, although I get even less in-person contact with clients :-)
