Sangoma Switchvox

Really Digium Switchvox is a great product, it's more of an overall service and it's great. Starting at the phones, I think they're well engineered, from button placement to make call handling a breeze, bright status indicators and programmable keys that keep things simple, and a clear back-lite screen, to light up those late night support calls. I've watched the web management interface grow into a gorgeous, friendly, informational tool that gives me a system that can do 95% of the things my customers request.The only times I've seen it as less appropriate is when it comes to the more budget restricted. I've always believed you get what you pay for, and Digium Switch provides a lovely packaged, turnkey product, that doesn't require an expert to maintain once installed. On top of that, you're paying for the service. I can speak from experience, and countless support calls, that Digium Switchvox's support is second to none. They're efficient, intelligent, friendly, and professional, I've never had a bad experience, keep up the great work!

GoToConnect (formerly Jive)

The ability to have video conferences is a great functionality offered through Jive. I would most definitely recommend it due to the quality of the audio and connection when utilizing this feature. The Jive app offered in the apps market isn't the best option if you are needing to take calls while on the go.

  • Support. Nowadays it's very hard to get good support and I feel that Jive is focusing on providing that good support. Support was the main reason we left the last phone company we went with.
  • Reliability - so far (3 months) the phone systems have worked and been reliable and we haven't had any major issues.

  • I've installed quite a few of these systems for a number of customers, and I've found a number of times having access to the second Ethernet port on some of the larger systems, and the ability to do some sort of static routing, and firewall functionality. I would love to have the ability to connect one port to the carrier's cpe router, and the other port to the customer's network.
  • I've worked with Voip products for a number of years, and various asterisk iterations. I'd like to see more access to the asterisk cli for troubleshooting, and/or potentially some sort of shell access.
  • I'd like to see the Digum Switchvox phones have vpn functionality. It would be great to deploy a field office with a pre-provisioned phone that automatically connects back to the corporate network via a secure vpn tunnel from most internet connections. Currently we either use a softphone, manually program a Cisco phone that does have the capability, or deploy an semi expensive router that support a secure tunnel. It would be much easier to sell a customer on a remote office and a fancy Digium phone, if they didn't need the extra hardware.

  • PBX portal is a bit bulky; there are a lot of links but not always the most intuitive. That said, customer service is great about helping to navigate and change it if anything is needed.
  • When I call they always ask me for the ticket number first. It would be good if they could ask if I have opened a ticket or need to open one. Conversations can be a bit lengthy trying to explain what I'm needing to do.

We are a pleased customer and look forward to many more years of working with Jive. I'm thankful for cloud-hosted VoIP. It has been a tremendously positive move for our company.

Jive has been great in not only allowing us to move offices without any downtime, but to also easily set up remote offices and keep the costs extremely low. It has great features and functionality, and we would not look anywhere else for this kind of product.

When we email or call Jive support we get a quick response and a quick resolution to our problem or request. We have not yet been disappointed by Jive's support whereas we were constantly disappointed by our previous company. You will find their support personnel knowledgeable, organized, and capable. Our previous provider usually took multiple calls and escalations for the simplest requests or problems to be resolved

We changed from a landline (horrible and expensive) to Verizon One Talk (WORLD'S WORST PRODUCT) to Vonage (GIANT DISASTER) to Jive. Jive not only met all of our needs but exceeded our expectations with the services we receive. We could not have had a better process for set up; it actually worked like it was supposed to and gave us more than what we needed!

Sangoma Switchvox

I've installed, and maintained a number of different phone systems over the last few years, including nationwide level Voip service providers relying entirely on custom built Asterisk systems, to SOHO systems connected to cloud level services. So far Digium Switchvox has been one of my favorites when it comes to ease of use, customer service, and over all reliability. While there are a few things I'd like to see done a little differently, updates are released frequently with fixes, and new features.

GoToConnect (formerly Jive)

RingCentral was hands down the most convoluted, confusing and difficult to use phone system out there we've experienced. Not only was it hard to use, it was the most expensive and we found their reporting was completely wrong. Not only was it wrong, the errors in reporting were a known issue that had not been corrected in over two years that I had been following it.
Nextiva was a fine system and had really great reporting. Their on-boarding was good and it was relatively easy to use in setting up. The PBX was good (Jive's is better) but its ultimate downfall was the app. It never did function correctly the entire time we were with Nextiva. Ultimately we had to leave Nextiva and go to Jive simply because of the app functionality. However, now we're very glad we did as we have better service and pay less than we did with Nextiva.

  • Significant savings over hosted PBX with PRI lines. Add in service contracts, software maintenance, online meeting services and the cost savings increases even more.
  • Previously we shared online video conferencing accounts. We no longer have to do that and deal with the confusion of juggling shared accounts
  • We now have internal extension dialing. Something we did not have previously
  • Jive was flexible and offered incentives to use them as your phone carrier
