Overall Satisfaction with GoTo Connect

GoTo has been an amazing platform and made my life as admin exponentially easier. I cover 3 dispersed locations across the US and one in Canada. Overall, we have around 50 lines, auto-attendants, shop intercoms, and alert functions set up. The install was easy, service is consistently good, the admin portal is user friendly, and the apps are reliable and intuitive. I love that when we have people out of the office that I can, in less than 5 minutes, have all of the lines from one branch rerouted to another and can reverse it even faster once the office is manned again. Holiday messages have never been easier to manage with scheduled adjustments to the call plan that I can set at the beginning of the year, all planned holidays and employee events are covered and I never have to think about them again. If an unplanned event comes up, it is only a couple of minutes to update the plan and we are good to go again. I really can't say enough good things about my experience with GoTo Connect.

Cons

  • I wish I could use the speed dials from my phone on the apps
  • I wish there was a regular reboot of phones during off hours to help from the inevitable glitches of VoIP phones
  • It would be nice if extensions were updated without the need to reboot phones.
  • It takes only a fraction of the time to set up new extensions or take down old ones compared to previous providers.
  • The quick moving of lines keeps customers from getting stuck on voicemails and allows the continued person-to-person contact.
  • As the sole admin, I am able to continue with other projects rather than getting bogged down trying to keep our phones up.
The GoTo Connect team was very easy to work with. As a company that is over 100 years old, I had to update some equipment before we could implement this system, but even there they were helpful in recommendations and helping me set up the necessary boxes to integrate with our existing equipment where we could. The phones arrived already provisioned and marked, so offices were truly plug and play which made a great impression on the employees as a whole. I really can't imagine it being much easier all things considered.
Admittedly, we do not use the platform to its fullest potential. However, for the phone functionality and admin tool, this is as easy as anything I could have hoped for. I spent literal DAYS on our last platform trying to get support to fix lines. Here, nothing has been down even a full day, and it is so infrequent that I can't even remember the last time anything actually went down! What I do know is that when we have had challenges or the need to just make changes, either the support blog or customer service has been able to help me get things back up, usually within less than an hour.....more commonly within minutes.
I have nothing personal against Broadvoice and found their team pleasant to work with. The greatest difference has been the administrative portals. Where Broadvoice was confusing and I still hadn't really been able to figure it out over a period of years past some basic functions, I still had to call to get support just to provision or update phones. With GoTo, I had a functional understanding within a week and a couple years in, it is smooth sailing and no angst when needing to update or troubleshoot an issue and I have access to everything without a phone call. It is true freedom to meet my company's needs.

GoTo has been fantastic for office and remote work. No matter where our people are in the world, they can be reached by DID or extension through the phone or computer apps. When an employee is out, his line can be forwarded easily from the local phone or apps and can be forwarded to multiple numbers if necessary. The forwarding can be turned off just as easily. The only challenge there is that if it is forwarded from the local phone, it can not be adjusted remotely. This is not a big deal unless you need to keep your office locked but are not using the app find me/follow me feature.
