Genius Solutions vs. IFS Applications vs. SYSPRO

Genius is great for analysis data using Microsoft products like Power BI or Excel as it links directly to them. Genius has also helped the work flow of our company a lot by streamlining processes. One process that helps our company a lot is the ability to print all work orders and fabrication/assembly plans in their batch printing module. Printing these would take up to five hours per assembly in Quickbooks and it now takes 10 minutes.

Order to cash processes and scenario are implemented natively in IFS. An HR module exists for career management also (objectives, comportments, training, mobility) but may be improved in terms of workflow validation (e.g. training to validate by a manager) or reporting.

Almost, since day one Syspro has been saving us time and making us more productive as a whole. We have been able to grow our revenue exponentially with keeping our personnel needs at nearly the same level. Syspro is a great system for an organization that has multiple needs like Distribution and Manufacturing and/or multiple locations.

• The production is simple and efficient, this is done directly from our 3D design software (SolidWorks).
• Technical support is efficient, when problems arise, solutions are provided quickly.
• The monitoring of production costs is clear and easy to consult.

• It supports the web version in most later versions.
• It provides various mobile versions of the applications as mobile apps to cater various areas.
• IFS Applications allows easy configurations of the application without going for costly customization.
• It covers almost every areas of an industrial company so any other third party applications are minimum.
• It allows safer and easier built-in options for integrations capabilities.

• If you are a small or medium business, SYSPRO is a great fit due to its flexible design. If you perform warehousing and inventory management Syspro performs these functions very well.
• SYSPRO has been around since 1978 and it shows in its development and support. I have been through several re-sellers for our support function, however we have now moved to SYSPRO corporate for our technical support and development/customizations. SYSPRO corporate supports their customers VERY well.
• The SYSPRO interface is highly customizable and nicely laid out. Even with the basic implementation, you can still get off the ground and run without performing too many modifications.
• SYSPRO forms and reporting templates are easy to customize/modify.

• The program is a bit difficult to learn for rollout
• The Learning Channel could be improved - downloadable mp4's would be nice to include in the program vs moving back and forth to the learning channel. Since the program is difficult to learn, it would be nice to be able to utilize the learning channel within the program. Also, the learning channel is pretty complicated to use.

Genius is easy to use but you have to male sure it's set up properly. You also have to make sure you understand what an ERP should do to know the right questions to ask when you contact customer support.

The system is very difficult to use, overly complex, and difficult to learn. It also has limitations that are hard to overcome.

I've heard many reports from our users stating how difficult Syspro is to use and navigate. From an average standpoint, the Syspro Administrator has to invest a lot of time in setting up the user for success. Once the groundwork is applied, SYSPRO's overall usability becomes fair easier to the average user.

We have been unable to get answers to our questions, solutions to our problems, and they don't seem interested in working in the construction industry.

I am using above mentioned software on different clients. As for manufacturing client Genius Solutions ERP is good easy to maintain inventory, For BOM Creation its help. As per our need this software provides us valuable information and helps the business growing smoothly. Overall its easy to use and budget friendly.

IFS Applications is based on Agile Technology which allows organizations to reconfigure user interface as per user requirements and make it user-friendly. Other applications are lagging on many fronts like User Interface, Online help document availability, Implementation methodology, and post-implementation expenses.

We evaluated 8 of the top vendors 16 years ago before we selected Syspro and frankly, none of them came close to meeting all of our needs at a reasonable price point. We still look back at that process and think it was one of the best decisions we have ever made.

• Being able to track time, cost of outside services and cost of materials has allowed us to trust the accuracy of our product markups and prices.
• Improved inventory control allows us to get products out quicker.
• The ability to sync the database with Power BI has allowed up to have a better picture of our financials and projected cashflow.

• Reporting is now centralized and managed. Previously, reports were outside the information systems and there was a risk of incoherence.
• Accounting controls are now in place on the overall processes, including production, which helped the company to reduce closing periods or to produce more easily official mandatory accounting files yearly.
• Interfaces between the CRM forecast tool and IFS helped to keep the tools in sync, and to decrease the processing times prior to production launch.

• Significant returns through giving us the ability to serve configurable products to our customers - We used the product configurator to accomplish this.
