Use it when you have a small workforce or handle most tasks alone. It's an ecosystem of relationships, and explaining the relationships between components can be hard for others. Like approval channels setup and how it affects invoice coding for approval. Better to separate these aspects between the admin and the clerk. Incredibly helpful in evaluating your workload and planning weekly check runs. Allows you to see far ahead what's coming down the pipeline and course-correct as appropriate. Seamless sync with QuickBooks. Great customer service, always responding promptly and on point.

  • Allows for a decent amount of customization - you can put in different tasks for different departments, you can put in project costs on a one-time or recurring basis to compare time to money, etc.

  • We would love to see Harvest build a feature for more detailed proposals that could be signed by the client and then automatically be turned into a billable invoice. The estimate falls short of this for larger projects.
  • Sending an invoice directly to the client from the Harvest dashboard can sometimes fail. Because it's coming from a spoofed email- some clients never get the invoice because it get's trapped in their spam folder.

  • I wish the export function allowed more options for the posting date of invoices. All invoices have the same posting date once they reach Sage 300, but this must be changed when they reach the transaction file. We should have the option of using the invoice date as the posting date or a selected date.

At this time we don't really need to review the use of the program. In the future as we grow with new partnerships, purchases and expenses and revenue we may at some point look at reviewing our use but for now and the immediate future there is no need to review such

Usability
Again, just a minor compatibility issues using with other platforms such as Basecamp, but it does do everything promised. The only downfall we have found is having to create a job in both platforms and then connecting them later vs being able to create a project once and having them automatically connect.

Beanworks takes some time to set up initially, but once it's ready on your computer, it is very easy to use in conjunction with QuickBooks. They have representatives that are readily available or can schedule an appointment to walk you through it if you are ever having issues. Uploading invoices is quick and easy. Approvers can easily make changes to coding before approving.

I have not actually had any customer support issues as the product just works for me and I have not needed it. So using that as the basis of making my assessment on support I would reckon the team are pretty responsive and attentive to customer needs. I have only used the solution on Chrome and Android so have no idea what the experience is like on other browsers or phone operating systems.

Open air is even worse. it’s like something out of 1985. Extremely ugly and not at all easy to use. It fulfilled the basic requirement of tracking time and we did not use it for anything else. When they raised the price to eight grand a year, despite our limited use of it’s functionality. We quickly dropped them.

We found that Yooz appeared to have better integration with Sage Intacct, and also allowed a variety of different formats for invoices to be submitted, such as Word documents and emails. It synced immediately with Intacct when ready, and the OCR technology appeared to be further along than Quadient. We stayed with Quadient though because the user interface was substantially better and there was less work required to process an invoice

  • Better tracking of time for projects = better quotes for clients! In turn, they trust us more, because we're only billing for the time used and projects completed.
  • We can also have clear conversations with employees about productivity and provide feedback with real numbers that the employee has control over.
