Chose Time Doctor
Upwork requires me to be their member and all transactions must be made in their site. I don't like it. So, I selected Time Doctor. It gives me more freedom.

I like time doctor because I get these really nice and easy to comprehend emails every day where I can see which person worked how much and can easily see if there might be issues or missed time usage.

Chose Time Doctor
Time Doctor recorded screens which was helpful at the time but Toggl is easier to start and leave notes. Google timer is better because it gives a count down instead of just running a clock. Overall tracking time was better using Time Doctor.

Toggl is sleeker and so much more user-friendly than Time Doctor. The Chrome extension with the intuitive power button icon really does increase compliance, which I think is one of the most important, and sometimes overlooked, considerations when choosing a new software for …

Toggl is superior to the other apps I've used (some I couldn't remember the names of) because of one thing: simplicity and UI/UX. I hate overcomplicated apps, and I hate ugly UI/UX even more.

To be honest, I've lost track of how many freelance hubs I have my profile listed on. At last count, it was likely over 20, which is overwhelming, to be sure, but necessary to increase exposure to find quality clients and projects. Each of these has its pros and cons, and I …

Time Doctor is well suited for certain businesses where some or many of the employees are now working remotely due to the pandemic and post-pandemic times. It is a good way for the employer to keep track of activity and (more or less) keep people honest. For businesses and employees where there are a lot of site visits, travel, etc., Time Doctor is a little impractical since it requires the employee to manually enter in whatever time was spent on tasks performed away from the computer. If an employer is hoping to track that activity, they still need to rely on the employees' honor systems to enter in times and tasks.

I have been using Toggl for about seven years now, and I absolutely love it. It keeps me on track with the tasks I complete throughout the day. Tracking my time makes me more accountable for the work I produce and how much time my work takes. Having the breakdown of my tasks helps inform decisions on hiring support staff. I can see exactly where my time goes and then formulate a strategy to either bring in more help, delegate work, or re-prioritize. When coupled with other productivity apps (I particularly use ToDoist), you can unlock even more of Toggl's power. Toggl Track isn't so much a checklist tool--it's a time tracker; but when I integrate my to-do app with the time tracking, I can quickly and easily switch between tasks without disrupting workflow.

I would recommend Upwork to a colleague as a solution to workplace issues. Our company has utilized Upwork to vet out potential competitors as well as partners in a lengthy data analysis project, as well as given our engineering team extra hands when implementing new products, projects, and features. This has allowed our company to stay on track with projects without in-house manpower.

Toggl integrates smoothly across multiple devices. I can seamlessly move from the field on my phone to the office on my computer and utilize Toggl the entire time.
It has great customization. Setting up multiple customers in a variety of ways is easy and quick to do. We haven't found something we needed that we couldn't set up.
The reporting is clean and informative. Reports can be generated for multiple criteria.

One thing I would love to see is integration with my cell phone. Time Doctor already has an app, but I want it to automatically capture the time I spend on my phone with clients. For now I have to manually enter in this time and must note when the call started and when it ended.
Integration into Wave apps where I generate my invoices. I'd like to be able to select a project from Time Doctor in my invoice and have it automatically populate the time I spent on it and the dates I worked on the project rather than manually finding and entering this information.

I am genuinely trying to come up with room for improvement, but I am struggling
Toggl is seriously my favorite tool I use as a freelancer, and they offer so much functionality for free - that's why I always write reviews
Maybe they could make it a little easier to adjust time tracking mistakes (leaving the timer running too long) -- I have to do several clicks to fix it and I make this error frequently

In my opinion the worst customer service. It is impossible to contact them via phone, and they are not transparent about their decisions.
I feel they don't have the freelance community's best interest in mind. Their focus is on the companies that pay. Freelancers are disposable.
They charge ridiculous fees to the freelancers that are the ones that need the money the most because they are the ones starting their businesses. It is like if your employer charges you for coming to work.

The support was terrible! They never responded in sufficient time and their assistance was always super vague. I never felt like they had an actual solution to my concerns. They were nice, but I don't feel like they were trained in their own system. It felt like I was talking to a wall.

I haven't needed much support from Toggl, as it's mostly come from a small team trying out the tool. I'm not entirely sure what the best way to reach them would be if I did need them. I'm also not sure how responsive they would be to support requests. But I think it's positive that I have not needed them

Support has been great. Rarely have I ever had an issue that has required support but when I have they have been great. I did have to interact with support to confirm my identity and the process was easy and quick and support was helpful to know what I needed to do to accomplish that task.

Upwork is better suited for finding contractors that you can have ongoing relationships. Compared to Fiverr, it's a much easier process to find qualified designers rather than one-time contractors to design simple things for you. The interface is easier to use as well and the billing management makes it so much cleaner and easier to know how much we're spending and how contractors are logging work hours.

For a small amount each month I believe I get a huge return on investment in form of traceability of my hours spent. The major factor that made me choose Time Doctor was the price and the value. I don't think I would still be interested if it was more expensive.

My timetracking needs are simple, so this is a great tool for me. Start the timer, stop the timer as client work is performed, whether that is uninterrupted time or not.
It is very easy to review work time invested for each of my clients, making it easy for me to track my daily time and review monthly hours for preparing invoices.
Daily time is automatically aggregated.
Each time entry can be tagged with work activity, or projects can be segmented and time assigned to the segments with start and stop times.

We have gotten close to 50% of all of our clients through the platform.
Upwork backs the work done through the platform, so no matter what the client or person you are working with does, you get paid for the work that you do. You aren't left hanging after doing hours of work for a client and then never getting paid for it.
Made it easy to communicate with clients from different parts of the world and set up partnerships and agreements in an easier fashion. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a unique skill set.
