Zoho Social works well when you need to post to multiple platforms at the same time. But there's not much room for customization. Say you're sharing the same link but on different platforms and your written post for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram is similar, but you want to customize the wording or hashtags for each platform. (Or fit the character count for Twitter.) You can't really customize each individual post even though you can schedule a post to run on all three platforms at the same time. I wish there was a way to customize individual posts for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter that are using the same link in one window all at the same time, and then schedule the posts at the same time. Otherwise, I have to schedule individual posts for Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, if there's slight differences between the posts, which doesn't end up saving me much time. If I want the post to be the same across all three platforms Zoho helps me save time. But if I need to make slight adjustments or customizations for each platform, it's not that much of a time saver

  • Dashboard - command center for all your social media accounts in one place. Great info and statistics at a glance.
  • Interaction - Zoho Social allows you to interact with people directly in real time, on any of the connected networks without having to login to that specific social media site. This saves time and allows you to really get into a good flow of interacting on social.
  • Multiple Brands - if you have multiple businesses, different locations, or manage accounts for clients, Zoho Social provides a really great way to monitor, manage, and interact, all from one login, for all of them. Very nice functionality.

  • The Smart Q sometimes schedules posts too far in advance. I question the accuracy of the Smart Q because it does not seem to differentiate based on social network. Based on their recommendations, for the maximum engagement, I sometimes have to have two posts scheduled to go out at the same time.
  • I am not quite sure about their collaborate tool. I am thinking that it is for teams to discuss and brainstorm social strategies and relationships.
  • I do not find my Twitter posts being updated too often in the recent posts section. When I measure the Zoho Social reports against other vendor reports, some of the data seems to be missing. It is not within the reports themselves, but rather in their quick glance at recent posts. Again, I only found this happening in the Twitter Feed.

Alternatives Considered

Zoho Social

Hootsuite was far too expensive and a bit complicated. We used Buffer for about a year and generally liked it. However, Zoho was less expensive and offered better insights into our brand's overall health. It would be nice if Zoho had Buffer's ability to post to multiple accounts at once while also creating individual content for each social media account (mostly due to Twitter and LinkedIn's word count limits.) Regardless, we're still happy with it.

  • Zoho Social has had a positive impact on our ROI. We use the analytics to guide us in our social media decisions, specifically where and when to spend our social budget. The analytics take out the guess work of what content works and what doesn't. We have a better understanding of our followers and what content they like to see from us.
