Cons

Acumatica - the ERP that keeps getting better

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We run our distribution business on Acumatica. It ties together customer service, sales, inventory, etc.

Pros

  • Manages inventory
  • Customer management
  • AP/AR

Cons

  • Managing inventory that ships in multiple boxes.
  • Can’t record a deposit against a blanket PO

Return on Investment

  • I would definitely say it's had a positive impact on ROI, because the old way of working before having a well implemented ERP platform was just too much redundant work, manual work, the use of multiple applications that were not integrated. So really it was all a mess before, before everything really came together on Acumatica. And as the company grew to learn the platform and really take command of really how to implement it.

Acumatica Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It’s a manufacturing company, so we use it for accounting—accounts payable and receivables. We also use it for the shipping department, for manufacturing to report products that are done. We’re also using the MRP for our purchasing department, and for production—creating the BOMs and keeping inventory levels and demand up to date.

Pros

  • I love the fact that we could go ahead and create BOMs to make end products, and with that, it also generates demand, so we can fulfill the materials needed to be able to sell our customers products and eventually make the sales.

Cons

  • Acumatica has been growing and keeps changing. I think the only thing I would say is it should be a little more user-friendly, especially when creating reports, without having to go into the programming of queries and all of that. That’s where I think it needs to be a bit more user-friendly.

Return on Investment

  • I think it has had a very positive impact on the company because now, visually, with the reports that Acumatica provides, we know where the company stands in terms of sales, inventory, and the whole process. So I think it has been a plus.
  • And I don’t recall—we have had some hiccups because Acumatica has been growing throughout the years—but nothing that has not been able to be fixed.

Acumatica - Distribution and Scale made easy

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As an ecommerce and B2B distributor we use Acumatica daily to manage our sales orders, shipments, and financial documents. Our inventory management and valuation has always been a struggle so Acumatica has been a very valuable in crating reports and giving our key users the data visibility they need in real time. We are also closing our month in a few days rather than several weeks. As we have grown into other channels onboarding new EDI customers or even platforms such as BigCommerce and Shopify have been seamless.

  • Inventory Management
  • Purchase orders
  • Integrations

  • Kitting at vendors

Return on Investment

  • Gives is great visibility in real time to all our daily operations
  • Inventory management and costing has become incredibly simple
  • Onboarding new EDI customers takes less than a day

A Great Customizable Platform

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Acumatica for inventory management, quotes, sales, and invoicing. We have a wide range of materials used in production that must be tracked across multiple locations. In order to manage lead times effectively, all departments involved in creating a product must be able to communicate in real time for the final product to reach the customer configured correctly and within a reasonable time. Acumatica is incredibly helpful in keeping all of those plates spinning successfully.

Pros

  • Acumatica is a great platform for auditing the paperwork for an order from cradle to grave.
  • It is great for running detailed reports on customer purchase history spanning years with relative ease.
  • The customizable nature of the platform allows for us to have exactly the tool we need without a bunch of other stuff we will never use.

Cons

  • The phone app is fairly useless. It is good for looking things up, but not for entering or editing data.
  • Some of the platform updates don't really seem to help functionality and you sometimes have to search a bit to find buttons that moved in the process.
  • I don't think there is an autosave feature, so if you forget to save and get pulled to another task and it times out, everything not saved is lost.

Return on Investment

  • Data entry time is much less allowing us to be more customer-focused.
  • Customizability has made this tool well worth the investment and maybe even more.
  • Location of even obscure information is relatively intuitive freeing efforts to other parts of the mission.
