BigCommerce has been designed to provide online businesses with the flexibility to create customized digital experiences through its open APIs and existing integrations. Please describe how your business is using the open APIs and available integrations to produce tailored online experiences.

From 13 reviews | Last Published May 27, 2026

BigCommerce's open APIs and integrations are primarily leveraged by businesses to enhance operational efficiency and customize customer experiences. A notable use case, cited by 5 of 13 reviewers, involves integrating with ERP and inventory management systems to streamline stock levels, order processing, and product synchronization [1]. While these integrations often improve handling speed and efficiency, some users encountered challenges, such as troubleshooting during high-traffic events. Separately, 4 of 13 reviewers discussed the general functionality of the APIs, noting that while some integrations were stable, there is a desire for more choices, improved data pushing capabilities, and clearer documentation of endpoints [2]. Beyond operational aspects, businesses also utilize BigCommerce for creating tailored digital experiences through headless commerce implementations, as noted by 2 reviewers, integrating custom frontends for product display and order management [3]. Similarly, 2 reviewers highlighted the use of integrations for marketing and customer engagement, connecting with platforms like Klaviyo and Hubspot for email flows, customer support, and conversion tracking [4]. This indicates that while core operational integrations are a significant focus, there is also a growing adoption of the platform's flexibility for advanced frontend and marketing strategies.

ERP and Inventory Integration

We’ve effectively utilized the SPS Commerce integration for EDI fulfillment, ensuring our supply chain stays tight, while the Fullers API has been a key focus for managing inventory sync—even when we had to troubleshoot how it handled high-traffic flash sales.

API Functionality and Improvement

We use API's but this might be an area where they need improvement. Perhaps developing more choices would be of help.

Headless Commerce Implementation

We use their APIs to integrate our headless frontend. We use it to show the products, catalogs etc. Using the APIs we send it to them for orders. We can easily check the segments of the customers and easily manage the same. We also integrated our ERP for the stock synchronization.

What positive or negative impact (i.e. Return on Investment or ROI) has BigCommerce had on your overall business objectives?

From 13 reviews | Last Published May 27, 2026

BigCommerce has largely delivered a positive return on investment for businesses, primarily by driving significant increases in sales and revenue, as reported by nearly half of the reviewers (6 of 13). This growth is often attributed to the platform's capabilities that facilitate higher order volumes and, in some cases, an increase in average order value. Beyond direct revenue generation, the platform has also contributed to operational efficiencies. Over a third of reviewers (5 of 13) noted that BigCommerce helped streamline various business processes, from product listing and updates to order management and inventory control. Furthermore, a substantial portion of the feedback indicates that BigCommerce offers a competitive total cost of ownership, with four reviewers citing reduced initial setup costs and overall lower expenses compared to previous solutions. However, the investment is not without challenges, as two reviewers reported increased development efforts and costs, stemming from long support wait times and the need for paid third-party solutions to achieve expected functionalities.
