Even though the price went up recently from $29/month to $79/month - I feel that because our business has grown it's totally worth it to stay with them. … If someone is just getting started with e-commerce they may want to go with a less expensive option to get the hang of it and get their sales up enough to afford the investment.

BC has given us some flexibility to design and implement specific programs to attract customers and increase our order size - for example, free shipping over $100.00 order size, free shipping and an... … Other websites wanted big dollars, multi-year commitments, and I felt offered limited support for their systems or very expensive support for their systems and none of that came through with BC.

From the pricing model they tried to get us on, as we scaled up the monthly price we needed to pay went to levels that were more than we were comfortable with, especially since we would have been... … As we began to scale and build our business, the pricing structure changed on us and it was going to 3X our monthly cost.

Finally, BigCommerce's pricing system allows us to keep the website relatively low-cost until we turn on the last few features that will promote the page to Enterprise pricing. … Eventually, we hope to utilize the site as a members-only e-commerce platform, with either an invoice/purchase order payment system or a typical card payment.

Monthly pricing is a little high, and BigCommerce automatically moved to a higher pricing tier than we wanted because of our store's sales volume. … Also, Shopify only lets you use your own FedEx shipping account for third-party shipping calculation if you pay for their highest-price tier service.
