What is Buddy Punch?

Buddy Punch is an online time tracking, scheduling, and payroll application. Track time, time off, locations, and jobs. The solution aims to help make punching in and out intuitive for employees and easy for users to view and export time. Employees can clock in using a browser or the Buddy Punch Google, iOS, and Android apps. Users can view who's working, their GPS position, or even limit where they can punch. The solution integrates with QuickBooks, ADP, Paychex, and SurePayroll, to name a few, while also offering Excel exports. Advanced features such as Time Off Accrual Tracking, Punch Rounding, Job Codes, QR Codes, Automatic Breaks, and SSO are all included in our cloud-based time clock.

Primarily to accurate track hours worked in a way that is fair and reduces the amount of communication and payroll modifications required for small changes in scheduling.

Buddy Punch is used for location during working hours as well as our timeclock for shifts.

Pros

  • Lets us know it is the actual employee clocking in by providing photo verification
  • Reminders to those who forgot to punch in or punch out

  • We don't necessarily like that it wants access all the time and constantly will send reminders even if off the clock

Buddy Punch was very new to me and i was pleasantly surprised as to how easy it was to Punch in and Punch out. All you need is an active internet connection and location permissions. The bare Minimum and Maximum a tool like this should need and that's all it asks for. Very Easy to use interface as well as No unwanted, unnecessary things. Simplicity is what sold it for me to leave a review. Definitely a great product for Punch in and Punch out along with tracking your Overall working hours. You also have export options available to export all the details accumulated.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use BP as our time-tracking system. To ensure all hours are approved by employees' supervisors, we use this stand-alone system. Our payroll system was provided by the Ministry of Health, so we like this time-tracking system, which is separate from the payroll system. It solved our problem of having a time-tracking system that meets our specific needs in a unionized environment.

  • Just hope someone in BP can help us develop an upload file so we can automatically upload hours to our payroll system.

  • Some of the functions we've got in the package, but we don't necessarily need them. If we can link the price to the selectable functions, it may save us costs.

Since last December, every employee in my company has been using this app, and they are very happy and have saved significant time by not having to worry about punching in and out. It’s all just on a nap now, it’s absolutely amazing.
