  • Not pushy in upgrades or sales
  • The recruiting platform is the least user-friendly aspect of Rippling
  • Retainment of CSMs - I've had several since we started (all good, but nonetheless, lots of changes)
Rippling's CSMs are excellent. They are great at explaining value adds and their response time for assistance is quick and effective.

Rippling is our payroll provider. We use Rippling to pay our employees, to handle tax reporting and interfacing with multiple state governments, and for tracking the time our employees spend on different projects and clients. Rippling is especially great because it offers a "multi-EIN" feature. You can have multiple different companies and legal entities connected together on one Rippling account. No other payroll providers we spoke to offered this feature. This feature was essential for us as a small family of associated startup companies in a shared space and with shared employees and contractors.

  • Allowing for a contractor to be paid from multiple companies in one pay period, or to be connected to multiple companies / EINs
  • There's currently no ability to cancel a payrun or edit its parameters once you start entering information in. You can archive it but not delete it. This is most relevant when creating reimbursement payruns, as it is easy to select an incorrect option and only realize it too late.
  • There are several areas in the application where a back button would be appreciated.
Rippling is the best payroll provider if you have multiple companies that you want registered together. No other payroll provider we spoke to offered the multi-EIN feature that Rippling provides.

We are a small company and Rippling works great for us at our size. I do not know how well the application scales, but I could see the systems being less than ideal for very large companies.

Similarly, a very small company many not need all the features that Rippling offers and can get away with a cheaper payroll company. For example, a sole proprietorship with two employees probably should use Gusto or some other option if they need a payroll company, but Rippling would still be a useful service for these companies vs. no payroll company at all. It is just a matter of price.

Since moving to Rippling, our processes have become streamlined and very accessible to all who utilize the platform. I use the Rippling Platform daily; it has become part of my life. Rippling is very open to suggestions from their clients on ways to improve the platform and add areas to improve the streamlining process.

We are a micro business and only use the basics for payroll and 1099 payments. This being said, Rippling is simple and straightforward for us to use. It also appears to be very powerful for larger and more complex organizations with a host of features, integetrations, automated procedures, and much more.

We use Rippling for payroll and learning/development. I use it from the Payroll side and have had no issues. The implementation was great. Very smooth transition from our previous payroll provider. After using it a year now I have encountered no issues. The customer service is top notch. They answer all questions quickly.

Rippling is great for payroll processing for organizations around 50 to 300 employees which is where the organization I work for is now at. I can imagine it could be an issue if your company has more than 10,000 employees due to having to register with each state yourself and keep up with all the tax notices.

We use Rippling HRIS for payroll, time & attendance, Benefits, learning management, recruiting, background checks, headcount and compensation budgeting, etc. What is great about Rippling is that it is very user friendly. One of my favorite app's is the insurance app. It takes away 75% of my job when it comes to offering an employee health insurance. It makes it easy for employees to understand what they are signing up for and how much it is going to cost. The same goes for terminating an employees insurance after they leave the company. It even sends all the supporting documents for cobra. It has made my job so much easier

Rippling is the most comprehensive business support system I can have encountered. HR, Payroll and Finance solutions create one-step logins and integration and they are constantly adding more ways to support companies of all sizes.

I am also impressed with the support for set up in various states and knowledge about each states labor laws, and overall set up for each state.

We use Rippling for onboarding and offboarding employees, payroll, performance reviews, and our benefits management. Rippling has assisted our employees by allowing them to have control over their paychecks. They are able to change their own IRA contribution amounts without having to go through a third-party payroll company. The onboarding and offboarding process is so easy and has streamlined both processes. Rippling is also very user friendly. The app is greatly appreciated by all of my employees and helps to provide transparency in the payroll process. I just recently added a Flex spending benefit for my employees and setting it up was so easy! I did have one little snafu, but all it took was a 15-minute video conference to have it all fixed. We also recently added the performance management app to our repertoire. That has been so helpful in making annual reviews more productive since it gives the employee and employer things to talk about in our reviews. In the near future, we may have an employee going remote, so I am now looking into Rippling's options for device management. All in all, I couldn't recommend Rippling enough!

  • Providing point of contact for different aspects of the program, we have a customer service rep, who is fantastic, but he is the only person I know to reach out to, and he generally has to follow up with me with information on which department/person I need to get in touch with to resolve my question.
  • Their "help" section is a bit difficult to navigate, but I will say the team chat makes up for that particular shortfall.
  • Their pricing is a bit all over the place. Everything is "al a carte," so the costs can add up quickly.
We are a very small business (11 employees when we are at "capacity"). Rippling allows us to accommodate all of our employment types (hourly, salary, contract), and makes it easy. There are a few things that I have found that seem to be better suited for a much larger company (e.g. company credit cards, expense reimbursement, etc.), but we just use what we need and what works for us. Rippling has made many aspects of management much easier, and it's interactive and kind of fun.

We use Rippling to manage employee records, contractor agreements, pay our employees, and manage their time off and benefits.
We lacked a reliable source of truth that could do more than just be an HRIS. With Ripplings many available modules, it has turned into somewhat of a one-stop shop. We aren't using all the modules available or even app management yet, but have benefitted from using it in the past year since adoption. Their PEO option worked really well for us as we employ in various countries.
  • Approval policies can be set up for nearly everything you want them for
  • Automations with customizable workflow
  • Custom fields allow you to store the data you want and use it however you need with flexible reporting
  • Data manager lets you see everything in one place
  • Transition flows can take a while to load
  • Report building is extremely customizable, but the UI isn't as intuitive as other tools I've worked in
  • Approvals are sent via email, but aren't always stored in an approval queue within Rippling, so it's very easy to miss an approval
Rippling works well as an HRIS. It comes with several integrations and allows you to manage various types of employee data in other tools while only working in Rippling. It can even provision and de-provision accounts and handle devices. It is also good for giving people across the company only the permissions they need. The UI isn't as intuitive as some other tools I've used, but their support articles are very detailed and can usually give you the answer you're looking for.

Nightmare to cancel

  • In my experience, Customer support gives you the runaround when you want to downgrade or cancel
In my opinion, Support when signing up and adding additional billable items is very strong. However, when our VC funding fell through and we needed to cancel, I've been given the runaround. They require contracts to lock you in to your maximum usage every month, not your variable usage. If you are unhappy with the service, in my experience, you cannot request to cancel the auto-renewal until 6 months into your contract. After waiting 6 months, I reached out to cancel my auto-renewal. I tried following the online documentation, but the Cancel Button was disabled from my account. I contacted sales who sent me to Support. Support said I had to talk to my dedicated CSM. I didn't have a dedicated CSM. It took a week for a dedicated CSM to respond. They then said I had to reach out to Support. It's now been 9 months of trying to cancel my auto-renewal, with, in my experience, each interaction involving a new condition, a new email address, a new form, or a new person. I've been totally unsuccessful in cancelling auto-renewal, and had to file a stop payment with my bank account. In my opinion and experience, you will end up paying for people no longer on your payroll throughout your contract, and cancelling is a hellish runaround.

It manages all of our HR needs and have been using it without any issues now for 2 years. It seems fluid and very user friendly when operating on your laptop or on your phone via the app. It also updates all my information quickly and allows for everything I need to be streamlined with just a few clicks.

  • Fow what we use it at least there is nothing else i would improve, maybe there is , but for what we use it which is to see payroll and clock in and clock out all is great.
Ever since we started using Rippling all is so organized and i get to see all related to my work in one place. The only thing i do not like is how many times i have to update the app, maybe they are adding more features or improving , but it gets annoying how many times i have to update the app.

We use Rippling as our complete HRIS platform. We also use it to process payroll, we use the applicant tracking system for recruiting and we recently added learning management, performance management, and engagement to the mix.

  • Easy to navigate from an admin standpoint
  • Makes on and offboarding super easy and intuitive
  • We would like to see a scheduling app so we can manage employees schedules from a hybrid perspective.
Rippling is a great HRIS platform that keeps adding more and more modules apps to the mix making it competitive amongst all other options out there. It allowed us to cut back on different systems and integrate most things into one portal like recruiting, learning management, performance management and engagement.

Rippling works really well because it manages all of our companies HR needs in the same place. In the past I have used similar softwares, but they don't do everything so you have to use more than one software. In this case I love that our employees can clock in /out, manage their payroll and benefits with only one login.

I use Rippling on a daily basis to check my hours, to follow up on learning management courses and if I need time off I am requesting it in the system and within minutes I get a reply.
such an easy app :)
  • requesting time off
  • checking my hours on a weekly basis
  • doing the courses on the app
  • checking all the benefits of the insurance
  • checking payroll on previous months
  • have the time calculated all together and not have approved/PTO/holiday.
  • lock the payroll with a code (for safety feature)
  • sending reminder on the app for the courses about to expire.
The app is overall very easy to use and very friendly for all users.
The app is updating constantly so we always have the newest version and never stuck.
I find this app great and very good for everyone!

Tracking employee information for comp, using data for system updates, PTO requests.

  • System doesn’t allow reporting customization
  • Too many tabs pointing to the same info
Great Onboarding schedule for New hires- one of the best I have used so far. I also like the new org chart visuals, makes it easy to follow and understand.

The Reporting customization is limited- I need a “transfer date” option or a better way to track employee suspensions like LOA, Medical leave, etc.
