I have used it for completing the IBM AI course which helped me learn AI and computing.
  • Objects (data) in an object-storage system are accessed via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
  • You can store any number of static files on an object storage instance to be called by an API.
  • File storage
  • Block storage offers an alternative to file-based storage—one with improved efficiency and performance.
  • Linkages with thirds party ( Aure / AWS etc).
I have very limited experience as I am still evaluating for my course.

[IBM Cloud Object Storage] is utilized in our IT department, most specifically. I have found it [to be] a convenient and advanced tool for data storage as well as for the management of the data lifecycle. It is a solution that is great for data recovery, storage, cost-effectiveness, and time saver. A scalable tool that has the propensity to store massive files of petabyte data.
  • IBM [Cloud Object Storage] is great for the data [storage]. Even [with] bulky files and we can [still] get access to those data files without facing any complex or perplexing situations.
  • It is a scalable tool, and has made it easy for us to scale our data as the volume of our files increases.
  • It is a highly protective and secure platform, and our company’s secrecy is maintained with it.
  • It provides details of the usage.
  • I am not content with its collaboration feature.
  • Sharing data is not easy, and should be improved.
  • The condition to get access to IBM cloud storage by only utilizing an IBM Cloud account is a bit unsatisfying for us.
It is not good for individual users, but [for] organization[s], it is just perfect for data [storage]. For company data, one needs for a secure, reliable tool that would protect important files. It is cost-effective, so a company can easily afford it. As far as IBM is concerned, [they have] always been a name of trust for us.

We use Cloud Object Storage to store documents that are uploaded to our web application. We also use it for archiving internal files large and small, such as backups and media files. We primarily use it because there are no limitations on the amount of data we can store and because it has auto expiration features that will delete older files based on a date.
  • Stores both short term and long term files.
  • Auto scales based on our usage.
  • Auto deletes older files.
  • Searching for files by keyword could be better. Currently one can only filter by prefix.
IBM Cloud Object Storage is well suited for storing files that aren't accessed often. Its archiving features and pricing structure makes it an affordable solution for backing up files that we may or may not need later. And it's auto expiration feature enables you to automatically erase older data so it doesn't count against your monthly billing.

Previously, we [had] servers with pre-defined configurations and resources. But when data grows, it's difficult to store and manage data, [so] we come to a solution that IBM Cloud Object Storage resolved our issue. It provides flexible services to store and maintain data with all-time availability. [No], we no need to worry about data backup and data availability for users.
  • Scalability
  • Durability
  • High availability
  • Data migration
  • As of now all features are working fine, so not much except improvements in SDK
  • Cost difference between multiple regions
IBM Cloud Object Storage is best suitable for those who want to store data with security. It provides data encryption and data security, and accessibility based on user roles. It provides different vault services [that] you can choose from based on your data access frequency. It is suitable for all organizations, as it provides the best services. Maybe if you don't want to transfer data outside of your organization, then this should [not be] your option.

As we work in information technology department, there is a lot of unstructured data in our organization to manage and to store it IBM Cloud Storage helps us ease the process.
  • Managing unstructured data.
  • Helping us deal with lot of data with the help of multiple petabytes.
  • Accessing data on the cloud becomes easy.
  • Cost is one the major fields where IBM Cloud Storage can improve.
  • The UI of the applied storage is a bit complex.
  • Overall there are not much issues I face.

For multinational companies, we use IBM Cloud [Object] Storage for regional and cross-region cloud storage. And that with a lot of data. We ended up "trying" IBM for having servers in specific countries and we wanted to lower the transfer times of data. This with the options to make private clouds and public clouds, to make specific files accessible, on [specific] locations based on geodata.
  • Security - We did many tests with many cloud solutions and IBM performed in the top options
  • They have a cold vault service that is perfect for backups
  • Easy to scale
  • Easy to setup with multiple devices
  • The speed, this was a important part, but we still have many desyncs.
  • Setup with specific rules and data migrations can be a hassle.
  • The UI can be daunting, it needs another look from UX perspective.
As told in the intro, it works well if you want a [globally] accessible cloud storage solution. They have servers in many locations making it great for big teamwork projects without thinking [too] much about the size because you can scale endlessly. And if you are looking for great security of data (and that is a big thing these days) then IBM has 1 of the best. Yet for us, they still are behind with the speed, and the UI is also [a] little bit outdated...Making it hard for some people to work with...In its price range we ended up with other solutions.

We have used several IBM Cloud products. IBM Cloud Object Storage allowed us to use a solution for unstructured data storage within the ecosystem of our other products. Most systems, including ours, has significant unstructured data, so finding a scalable solution for this data, and APIs to read and write this data, was paramount.
  • Scalable unstructured data storage
  • Built-out client APIs
  • Competitive IO
  • The price
  • Better storage class management
IBM Cloud Object Storage is well suited for any organization that is using other products in the IBM Cloud ecosystem that need an object storage solution. This product is the one to use. If your organization does not currently use object storage, there is probably a use case that you should be using it for.

With the proliferation of cloud computing, object storage is being widely adopted for the management of unstructured data, and analysts estimate that this will represent the majority of all data globally in the near future. As a researcher in machine learning, I have huge data sets I use, for example, the TUH EEG Corpus, the world’s largest publicly available database of clinical EEG data, comprising more than 25,000 EEG records and over 14,000 patients. I use this dataset in my study.
  • Affordability.
  • Cloud compatibility.
  • Storing and/or managing unstructured data.
  • I cannot think of any area IBM cloud storage needs to improve. It is a complete service - where users can store and/or manage unstructured data, build, deploy, and AI models. Complete with videos to learn about Watson Studio.
Well suited for storing and/or managing unstructured data. Object-based data storage provides the most significant advantage of unlimited scale. IBM Cloud Object Storage comes in handy here.

IBM Cloud Object Storage is used across our organization in each department to store data and transfer files. It has helped us to work on our workloads and save most of our files in a safe and secure platform. We used to lose a lot of data before we deployed this platform from unnecessary circumstances but since we deployed this tool everything has been running smoothly.
  • Data and files storage
  • Security to our organization information
  • I have not come across any potential challenge that can lead to changes.
  • There is no missing functionality.
This platform is well suited [for] data storage and cloud server services. Our data that is stored in [the] cloud servers of IBM is always safe and secure from any hackers. I have great [belief] that this is the most reliable platform with the largest storage volumes that can sustain bigger volumes of workloads. It has [a] powerful security layer that enhances maximum data and file transfer security from our servers.

We use IBM Cloud Object Storage mostly in the IT department, but the finance department also has access. We use the platform to train new employees so that they get used to cloud storage services. The main reason why we opted for IBM Cloud Object Storage is that it is easy to use, access data, scale, and backing up data is also straightforward.
  • SQL Query Service is perfect
  • Backup versions in the cloud are extremely valuable.
  • It provides each and every using details, that is available online.
  • Data Storage has a limitation of 200 MB, when uploaded trough console.
  • Collaboration and sharing needs improvements
  • UI needs improvements
IBM Cloud Object Storage is suitable for many scenarios when a company needs to store and access data securely and fast. It is very convenient with its many features. The fact that it integrates with other IBM products seamlessly makes it even better.

I have used IBM Cloud for several companies as an example of performance in handling data of different nature. I have applied it mainly in the analysis of sales of commercial chains and the restocking of their stores, both with great results. The main impact is noted in the response time to prepare the queries and for subsequent operations with the data.
  • importing excel files
  • importing format and coma separated text files
  • uploading data in less time than expected
  • retail sales (comercial)
  • juice extractor plant's performance (industrial)
  • diabetes statistics (medical)
for Data Analitycs, using IBM Cloud storage millions or records, and scanning them in milliseconds for Machine Learning, providing a robust connection during Machine Learning training and after it with results for Infographics, very easy for joining with other IBM modules ([especially]), it [shows affinity] with other apps (third partners)

I am new to Cloud services and I feel the experience is very user-friendly and a lot of options are available for even a free user. So far loving the experience. The Object storage creation has pay-as-you-go options, a subscription option, and a free object creation option. For a learner, this is the best place to just get the feel of it.
  • We can upload files of any type
  • The default storage capacity is 25 Gb
  • We can choose even payed service for more capacity
  • Region and data centre options are available
  • On premium account you can get best support
  • I think file uploaded should be allowed to edit or modify
  • There could be more options for a free account
  • Overall no issues
We can use this as an Online repository for personal projects and can be used along with other cloud services provided by IBM cloud for having a fully working Platform as a service. I am creating my own pipeline for some bioinformatics analysis and IBM Watson studio comes in handy when I need high computing resources to train my machine learning models. There are other features of Watson studio which I am yet to explore. However, so far, I have really enjoyed using it in training my machine learning models.
  • High processing power
  • Support for AI/ Machine Learning
  • Reasonable pricing
  • Navigating the platform is cumbersome and a simplification would definitely improve user experience.
  • More tutorials on its usage in the field of bioinformatics with cancer and general OMICS data analysis.
  • Pricing should be reduced to make it affordable for many.
When you need high computing resources for a machine learning task, it is a great platform. However, for simple task, it will be most appropriate to run them on your local machine. All in all, it is a great platform that supports several needs.

I find IBM Cloud [Object] Storage as a very cost-effective solution. I would greatly recommend it to someone who is about to start their cloud journey because of its flexibility in learning and easy-to-use interface. It is highly scalable as compared to traditional storage which is there on the market and it also can store up to a large petabyte & exabytes of data. Our organization uses the IBM Watson Assistance chatbot to help our customers better guide through our website. It greatly helps by solving our real-time customer's issues with ease. A few issues we faced while running the services were adding multiple concurrent connection operations. Apart from that, it's very reliable and a great service which IBM provides.
  • Cloud storage allows you to save data and files in an off-site location that you access either through the public internet or a dedicated private network connection.
  • Cloud storage delivers a cost-effective, scalable alternative to storing files on on-premise hard drives or storage networks.
  • Cloud storage services provide elasticity, which means you can scale capacity as your data volumes increase or dial down capacity if necessary.
  • Business continuity of Storing data offsite supports business continuity in the event that a natural disaster or terrorist attack cuts access to your premises.
  • Security concerns are common with cloud-based services.
  • Offloading maintenance and management to a third party offers advantages but also can limit your control over your data.
  • Delays in data transmission to and from the cloud can occur as a result of traffic congestion, especially when you use shared public internet connections.
  • Regulatory compliance
Building enterprise-grade data solutions with large teams. Where an all-in-one platform is needed to solve complex problems that require an ecosystem of tools to work together. Where IBM services already exist in the business Projects where scalability, security, and technology integration are key drivers. Scenarios where IBM Cloud Object Storage is not well suited: Small teams with small budgets may be better off using open source tools
* Solving niche industry problems that require niche solutions.

[IBM Cloud Object Storage] provides agile access from cloud environments such as applications and backups, security, and access from scalable environments such as Docker or Kubernetes. It does not address any business problems.
  • Excellent storage of services as a database
  • Documents code of development
  • Sharing of applications on the cloud
  • Company data backup
The value of using this type of cloud storage is in its accessibility to any company that uses or complements other cloud services in different environments such as production and/or development.

This service is being used exclusively within the Computing department at the university. It is being used as an alternative to students accessing machines in person as we have students that work remotely. This significantly reduces our outgoings on high end technology as we don't need to have 300+ machines with high end specifications.
  • Runs without delay
  • Processes large amounts of data quickly
  • Accessible for users of different technical levels
  • The UI and layout of applied storage should be simplified.
  • Commercial rates should be easier to quote.
[A specific scenario where IBM Cloud Object Storage is well suited would be] as a replacement for any in-person processing that needs to be done. This could be anything from training a neural network down to setting up a backend for a CRUD system. It is less useful for quick projects that are more driven by time rather than long term investment into developing a secure bespoke system.

We were using IBM Cloud Object Storage for bulk storage solutions for data generated by research labs within the institution. We were targeting non-HIPPA data to interface easily with IBM Watson's cloud computing environment.
  • Honestly, I don't have any examples of what it did well [from my experience].
  • [I believe] they have horrific customer service. We tried multiple times to upgrade our account from pay-as-you-go to a subscription service. We were quoted for wrong parts multiple times and eventually chose to abandon the use of IBM Watson altogether, in favor of a different cloud computing service.
  • [I feel] the use of Cloud Object Storage and how it interfaces with the notebook environment is clunky and awkward at best.
  • [In my experience] the organization of objects within projects is also awkward and clunky.
I wouldn't recommend IBM Watson Cloud Storage or Cloud Pak for Data to anyone for any reason. [I feel] it is more expensive, less useful, has more barriers to setup and use, has more limited use-cases, and has worse customer service than almost any other major service we have tried.

I am an Independent Creative Developer. We offer Design, Development, and products. Our-end users are related with Food, music, art, design, travel, and more else.
Ok. Right now, I'm trying to automate tasks with IBM Cloud Object Storage.
Now, I am in charge of the IT migration platform for a robust and reliable company, who want to offer a flexible and scalable Cloud infrastructure. We have been getting problems with the deployment and the documentation IBM offers is interesting and easy to read, [easy to] understand syntax.

We want to migrate some projects related with K Percussion (hybrid percussion) related with E-Learning about percussion music and programming technologies to engage with end users around the world. What is our commitment? To provide an robust an responsive platform for customers, clients and stakeholders.
  • Reliability. One of the most important interests in the industry. A well performance, low latency and high flexibility for tasks, as CI/CD through pipelines. Positive
  • Security. Customers needs is the reason to exist right? Privacy about their content, and how they handle it, is the entire reason the IBM offers to their customers. Positive
  • Documentation. About it, it is interesting because it helps to know more about their products, knowledge. Positive
  • Learning. IBM brings me continuous education and improvement. Well, I try to apply this knowledge to design user experiences or get more insights. Know applying this to the IBM Object Cloud Storage. Positive.
