Users find it easy to test different features by adding a user and appreciate the simplicity of the software. The software provides a more secure method of connecting Remote Desktop Manager to SQL servers compared to the previous method. A distributed consulting practice benefits from having a central secure repository for privileged information, passwords, and connections, allowing consultants to access information quickly and effectively. The software differentiates the consulting practice in the market and adds a professional touch. One user found that the Password Server did not fully address their organization's needs, particularly in terms of copying passwords. Users value the secure password storage and integration with Office 365 offered by Devolutions Server. Role-based access control is highly appreciated by users, as it allows for different teams to have customized access to the tool. The software is used to store and manage important passwords for different projects, preventing employees from using multiple password management tools. Future plans include integrating Devolutions Server/RDM with the project database to provide employees with a pre-structured map of the projects they are working on. Users rely on Devolutions VLS to gather information from different sources, including server information, password information, and customer information. The software saves time by allowing users to log on to servers without typing passwords every time. Users appreciate the secure storage of confidential information provided by the software.

Helpful and Easy to Use: Many users have found working with Devolutions to be incredibly helpful and easy, even for beginners. They appreciate the intuitive and familiar user interface, which is comparable to something they have been using for 10 years.

Secure Method for Managing Connections: Users appreciate that Remote Desktop Manager RDM provides a secure method for managing multiple types of connections such as RDP, VPN, SSH, etc. The inclusion of a Password Server acts as a central repository for all information and offers granular controls for access and edits. This allows users to give specific access to credentials and connections following best practices in Privileged Access Management.

Convenient Access from Anywhere: The integration of RDM with Devolutions RDM Cloud interface has made it easier for users to access their passwords and stored information from anywhere at any time. Users also appreciate the encryption of the password server providing added security. Additionally, the role-based access control and integration with Active Directory are praised by users who find it convenient to manage their data with multiple ways to access it.

Missing Granular Access Control: Some users have expressed frustration with the lack of granular access control options in the software. They would like to be able to gain access to an object in a folder without manually granting or removing access to the entire folder or other objects within it.

Limited Security Features for Small Companies: The team edition of the software is lacking important security features such as two-factor authentication and IP/geo restrictions, which some small companies find concerning. These users feel that these features are necessary for ensuring the security of their data.

Issues with VPN Connection Switching: Users have reported frequent switching between VPN connections causing the server to appear offline from the client's perspective, leading to freezing issues. To address this problem, users suggest implementing a proactive toggle to offline mode that would prevent freezing when switching between connections.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

We use Devolutions Server together with Remote Desktop Manager. It is used to have a website that uses RDM to store and manage important passwords for different projects. One of the main issues we had was that the employees used multiple password management tools to store critical passwords for customer's machines and interfaces. To put a stopper to this we came across Devolutions and their brilliant solutions. Now employees can structure their passwords per projects to get access to a specific password in no time. In the near future we also plan to "upgrade" the use of Devolutions Server/RDM to be connected to our project database. By doing this all employees will get a pre-structured map-structure with the projects they are working on. This way, the employees don't have to do it themselves.
  • Gives you the possibility to access your passwords and everything you store there anywhere you are and anytime you want to!
  • Uptime! This is relevant for all Devolutions products
  • AD connections. The fact that we can add over 300+ users (size of our company) without manually sending out a link for people to create their user profile.
  • Easier ways to adjust inherit or at least access directly into a file/folder. If I want to give a user access to a specific folder inside a project, I have to manually remove his access to other folders in that project.
When you need a good and secure password management product that is always available then Devolutions Server is the one for you. It gives you access anywhere you are, anytime you want! It can be connected to AD which helps the ones setting it up for your company a whole lot easier.
  • Store and manage passwords.
  • Access anywhere, anytime.
  • Easily upgradeable and scalable.
  • By giving the employees access to a reliable password management for work-related things, it has given us more control over where and how passwords are stored.
  • Many have their passwords store locally at their computer in a "locked" Excel file, but now they have a reliable place to store their own personal passwords.
  • We have 300+ employees, and every feedback I have gotten has been positive.
I didn't have much of a say in what we used, but it seems to med that Devolutions beats everyone in uptime, response time to incidents or personal questions and their teams knowledge. We've had multiple meetings and tasks for them to fix, and they have given us better answers than expected every single time!

Everyone. Everyone uses Devolutions Server as the common way to store and manage passwords.

Not much skill at all, it can be learned pretty easily I think. We have a VM (Virtual Machine) that controls the Devolutions Server, and all I need to do is to log in to this VM and do what is needed. If it is to update the server, add or edit a password to start the server. And it is all well explained inside the Server Manager at the VM.
  • Store and manage passwords for customers that are used in projects.
  • Have a common password management system.
  • Uptime!
  • On mobile when on site, you can even download an app!
  • To have it integrated into our AD, not just connected to projects, but when for example new employees are hired, they automatically have access to their own personal password management system and also one for project-related passwords.
I think that we will stick with this service for as long as possible.

We use Devolutions VLS as a way to gather information from different sources, so we don't have to find Server information in one place, password information in another place, and customer information in a third place. We also use it to easily log on to our servers without the need for typing passwords every time, which saves a lot of time. Lastly, it is a great secure way to store confidential information.
  • Multiple way to access your data
  • Easy server management
  • Of course easy and secure access/storage of your data
  • There is always (In all software) minor places that could use some tweaking but the way Devolutions listen to posts on the forum and implements this, I can't really pinpoint any major places for improvement.
  • Pricing. Not to say that it is overpriced, but for enthusiasts having to buy DVLS is pricey.
  • If there is one thing, the startup speed of the program. Maybe by selecting modules that you use or which you don't, but as it is open all day most day, it not that big of an issue.
I feel that Devolutions VLS is a great product which makes storing of secrets a hassle free job, as you can access your data in so many ways. Whether you are a small team who wants easy access to devices or for storing passwords to your internet sites to large teams with many types of devices to manage, and many types of information to keep safe.
  • Security
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to access
  • We are very new to Devolutions in this company, so we can't say yet.
They don't have the same "Server" option as Devolutions, so you can only access data from the computer program.

We use Devolutions Server in conjunction with Remote Desktop Manager to connect to servers and devices on our network. Devolutions Server allows us to securely store our passwords, it integrates with Office 365 and can provide 2-factor authorization where we require it. We also love role-based access control! To be able to set access to different teams depending on what they need to do in the tool is fantastic!
  • We would like to see some additional reporting options.
We love using Devolutions Server as our Privileged Access Management solution! We were able to use it initially for our Information Technology team and after that, we expanded the use to other teams outside of IT, like our Database Admins, etc. Integrating Devolutions Server with Remote Desktop Manager allows our Systems Admins & Engineers to support our environment without having to keep passwords in an Excel file or on Post-It notes! :)
  • Privileged Account Management.
  • Encrypted Passwords.
  • Role Based Access Control.
  • None
We were already a Remote Desktop Manager customer, so when we chose to look for a PAM tool, we went with the one designed to work with the Remote Connection tool we were already using! It was a big plus that Devolutions Server hit every checkbox we were looking for, and more!

I tried out the Password Server as a potential solution to our current password solution. I found that it was ok but did not address our needs as an organization. I was just trialing it because we use the RDM from Devolutions and I thought it was would be great to integrate the two. However, there are shortcomings that I did not like. For instance I could not copy the password as it was "hidden" in the password server.
  • Integration with Devolutions RDM
  • Cloud interface it a lot easier than having a specific application
  • Encryption of the password server is very good and secure for all the needs.
  • More options for importing password safes/vaults
  • Allow passwords to be copied without exposing the password in plaintext
  • Add an extension to web browsers for the password vault
This does not suit our password scenarios since we have a weird password application that is older. It would help us since we have the RDM already. It would also be useful for companies that have a lot of people in their IT department. Since we have a small team it is not worth it to purchase the password server.
  • ROI was higher when I used the password server
  • The time to set up took a while since the importing from out password vault would not work properly
  • The server worked quickly reducing our response time
LastPass has a browser extension that I use daily. Granted I am a free user of the application not a paid user so there is probably a difference. LastPass does have the autofill option which is a great option when accessing multiple sites instead of having to open the password vault itself.
