I use Expensify to submit all my expenses for work and it's super easy to use! It's very intuitive, the UI is clean, and it very clearly states when an expense is pending/submitted vs approved/denied. It's also very easy to categorize each expense.
I really don't have much to say as I feel that it works as intended, and I'm very satisfied with this platform.
Pros
Submitting expenses
keeping track of expenses
uploading receipts
Cons
I wish that when I add an expense, it automatically submits it, or there's a clear CTA to submit it. The submit button seems to be on a different page from where I list all the expenses.
Likelihood to Recommend
I love using it for travel expenses and education reimbursements. Other than that, I don't really use it for anything else.

Remote expense management for International Selling organization. Expensify allows us to organize and manage our expenses across several continents in collaborative and easy to work with system. The ease of use and intuitive nature of Expensify makes expenses so much easier to take care of and eliminates the felling of dread one used to have before compiling a month's expenses or those for a complicated international trip. A pleasure and improvement over all other expense techniques and applications that I have worked with and therefore I strongly endorse it.
Pros
User Friendly
Easy to update
Easy to Edit
Easy to collaborate
Cons
Look forward as Agentic AI and RAG features are added
Likelihood to Recommend
It is easy to compile expenses, submit them for approvals process, and also to modify and edit expenses that need more justification or editing.
It is easy to work with the process with workflows involving persons in different continents and time zones and also languages and currencies.
We use it submitting corporate credit card transactions for approval and processing employee reimbursements and payments. This solves the inefficiency, lack of control, and lengthy approval cycles associated with manual expense reporting; specifically, Expensify automatically imports all corporate card transactions from our bank feeds, requiring me to only attach receipts for approval and timely reconciliation by the finance team.
Pros
Import credit cards transactions
Reimbursement payment
Quickbooks integration
Cons
Late importation of transactions, they don't show up right away

Organizations that have a strong focus on employee experience and any business using mainstream accounting software that needs reliable, automated data sync. This is well suited.
For less appropriate, If your needs extend deep into vendor invoice processing, purchase order matching, or multi-tiered contract management.

Professional in Finance and Accounting (11-50 employees)
Our company uses Expensify for our Petty Cash spending. Multiple employees have cards, all drawing from the same bank account. It's handy to have a bigger spending limit per card, as well as the automatic receipt generation for several types of purchases. Also, the repeated reminders to upload the receipt for larger purchases are a lifesaver. We have several employees who have historically thought of receipts as unnecessary paperwork, leading to accounting hounding the employees for receipts or spending time asking vendors to email missing receipts. This has led to discontent between departments. Initially, adding the new system created an organic change in procedure requirements that employees could understand but not take personally. Now, Expensify automatically does the "hounding," so forgetful employees no longer have a person to be mad at. When a card is lost or compromised, the ability to turn off a card and order a new one is very smooth. While waiting for the physical card to arrive, it is nice to still be able to use the virtual card. Altogether, I would recommend Expensify, especially for smaller businesses where all the employees know each other.
Pros
Spending tracking
Reminders for receipts
Detailed spending reports
Smooth turn around for replacing lost cards
Cons
Once a batch is closed I cannot edit any information, or add a receipt
Once a card is locked, I cannot order a new card. Your AI chat suggests to lock a card first, then order a new one, which then requires unlocking the card. The order of opperations needs to be switched or allow for ordering a new card once an old card is locked (which also makes sense).
Adding an option to talk to a person when openining Concierge. The AI is really good, but is still limited.

I think it's really good for small businesses. At least in the way we use it. It's very good for keeping an eye on employee spending in nearly real time. I'm not sure how it works for larger companies when there is a larger number of people to keep track of.
I use the Co-Pilot function as an accountant and tax preparer. My clients use Expensify to create reports for reimbursements, quarterly expenses, and to store receipts digitally. This lets them save on storage and paper by prioritizing digital receipts. The ease of use, especially for the mobile apps, allows users to submit receipts in real time. None of my usage has used the expense claim tool, but I see that as a tool with high value.
Pros
Receipt Capture
Reporting
Accesibility
Cons
Integrations
I have little bad to say from my usage of Expensify

It is great to track quarterly expenses to be reimbursed to employees. It makes it very easy for my clients to submit expense reports on a regular basis with all the source documentation I need. This allows us to work much more efficiently. It is also very handy for tracking travel costs for business. Given my experience with Expensify, I cannot think of scenarios that are less appropriate, my biggest complaint was issues with the integration, although that was years ago when I was working at a different firm and it could have been due to user errors of my old team.
Expensify simplified and streamlined a previously-manual process that required multiple internal workflows for expense submission and approval. Employees really like the Receipt Scan feature. The plafrom is also customizable in terms of how much expense classification and description levels are required, and that helps our Accounting department. We've not deployed the Travel area for booking and planning business trips, but we use the rest of functionality pretty heavily for field employee expense management and expense reporting.
Pros
Receipt scan
Expense classification
Split expense with another employee
Email inbox for expense forwarding
Cons
Import card controls not as flexible
Aggressive duplicate detection
App offline mode can be touchy
Likelihood to Recommend
I have used a variety of apps and platforms but none as smooth as Expensify. For a large workforce, or a small one, Expensify strikes a balance between employee-friendly and employer-friendly. The user-friendliness is often mentioned by the employees, and the employer has plenty of checks and balances. It checks all the boxes for us.
We use it to submit our personal expenses. It makes things super easy and streamlined, especially the ability to add to a report from my phone. I can take real-time snapshots of my receipts (takes away the fear of losing them!).
Pros
Connection with mobile app
Easy to use interface
Customer Service
Cons
It's a little challenging to find how to turn off auto-submissions and the support chat is helpful but the instructions they gave me do not match with what I can see (minor thing to improve)

It's made doing my expenses so easy and I've used a lot of other softwares! It's super fast and easy to use as well, which most are not.
We’re a small organization, headquartered in Australia with one employee in the U.S., and we use Expensify to manage all expenses. Staff snap photos of receipts or email them to Expensify. It eliminates manual data entry, enforces policy compliance, speeds up reimbursements, reduces errors, and gives the GM real-time visibility into spend. What once took hours of spreadsheets and back-and-forth now happens in minutes
Pros
Reads data from the receipts
Calculates mileage
Multiple ways to enter data
Cons
Searching for old expenses is a challenge
Would love to be able to forward receipts received in text format

“I’ve used Expensify at four companies since 2009, and it’s consistently excellent. As a frequent traveler, I email receipts straight from airlines and hotels—no more paper clutter or lost slips. It’s fast, accurate, and stress-free. Their old tagline said it best: expense reports that don’t suck! <div>I’ve also used it in presentations as an example of software that does exactly what it promises. </div>
I use Expensify to submit periodic work trip expenses. Expensify simplifies submitting receipts and automatically identifies totals which saves me a lot of time organizing and validating my expenses. I also appreciate that they are frequently releasing new and useful features that continually make it easier to manage expenses. I use the app fairly infrequently, so I do not have the user journeys memorized, yet it has been super easy to pick back up every time I submit a new group of expenses due to the easy-to-follow user interface.
Pros
Processing images of receipts
Categories are well defined
Easy to follow user interface
Cons
The function that automatically selects the expense category is not always accurate
It wasn't obvious to me the first time that I created a group of expense that I needed to take another step to submit them, so the expenses were in the app pending my action for a few weeks and I did not realize.
Likelihood to Recommend
It's great for period business trips. I have not required it on a day-to-day capacity, so I can't speak to that type of usage frequency.
As a traveling business professional, the simplicity and ease of use in submitting expenses can save me valuable time. With Expensify, l love that i can quickly log on, enter an expense, reciept and description very quickly, and even if i dont complete it, the system saves my info so i can continue if i get pulled away from the initial task. Many entry processes which typically were very time consuming in other systems, are now able to be done without the hassles of delays, errors etc. Previously i would wait to enter reports because i knew it would be time consuming, which resulted in missed expenses, costing me $$$. I am able to enter expenses quickly instead of sorting through many receipts at the end of each week or month.
Pros
Travel mileage and maps - Very easy and accurate
Submission of receipts and tracking of expenses
Simplified Entry of expenses and associated data
Reminders - quick and timely, and adherance to company policies is informative and accurate
Cons
Ability to add multiple receipts for expense
Additional comments field on Expense Summary
Likelihood to Recommend
Great for daily expenses and quick entry.
Could improve in time to auto submit expenses from a Reciept picture.
