Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use LogMeIn Rescue to allow us to quickly log into end users' machines remotely for multiple reasons.

These include logging in to provide technical support, to help apply patches, and to assist when users are having trouble with their machines.

LogMeIn Rescue is a very easy and powerful tool to use, and we appreciate the fact that it runs seamlessly and quickly.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use LogMeIn Rescue mainly for remoting into devices, typically to resolve any IT issues. There are many business problems addressed by this product. The first issue it resolves is it allows for users to interface with personnel and resolve issues remotely. It also keeps a great record of all the activities perform and it creates a secure connection between IT and its users. Furthermore, it is quite easy to use and is very user-friendly.

Like I mentioned before, LogMeIn Rescue was an excellent support tool for IT technicians to support end users with any issues they experienced.

They also helped with file transfer, which was useful when users had to elaborate on the issues they experienced. Because of the mic issues, it did make simultaneous coordination on devices very difficult.

I use LogMeIn daily at work to get connected to clients computers to perform data conversion. This is a tool that is needed by myself and the rest of our team if not the rest of the company to perform our work duties. Business problems normally occur when a client is using a Mac instead of a normal PC.

Works well when client is using a PC
Works well when a client has used LogMeIn the past
Works well when client isn't trying to get connected with a Mac

Cons

Sometime when client isn't logged in as admin, unable to get connection
When client doesn't have password for reboot and we need to stay connected overnight
Sometimes the program crashes when there are multiple connections

LogMeIn is well suited when getting connected to a client and we have to transfer files. The environment I work in is HIPAA compliant so we are unable send files via email. Also this is helpful when transferring large files and databases which is a task to do if not using LogMeIn

We use LogMeIn Rescue to log into client’s computers and guide them when they are having issues locating things. View errors on their machines and fix items in the software or on their computers when they have issues that need to be rectified. LogMeIn Rescue helps us to do these things pretty easily.

Pros

Simple to take videos of issues
Easy to get to the task manager
Helping clients get to it works most of the time
Works well for businesses

Cons

By default it would be good to have clipboard sync enabled - disabled instead. So difficult when copying from my computer doesn’t work because of an agent sharing the connection and it will not let us copy information into the client’s computer.
Copying into excel is difficult. It will deselect things that you have highlighted when copying.
Would be nice to make the hierarchy easier when sharing files between clients and us.
Logging into certain environments can be challenging and require customers to be fairly techy to be able to understand how to get logged into client’s computers.
Sometimes login is pretty unstable on certain internet connections even though they are fine when they use team viewer with their IT.

Likelihood to Recommend

Most of the time it is great. Sometimes with iPads it is not great or too expensive for orgs to pay for an option to allow iPads to be logged into along with computers and windows computer tablets. When needing to view something a client is talking about. It is great to use login to understand the issue and possibly fix any issues we need.

When you have work-from-home employees and various work locations, LogMeIn Rescue is a game changer. We can't all be everywhere at once. When you have a sales office and a business office in different locations in the same city, remote assistance becomes a crucial and necessary tool. When you have work-from-home employees in different cities, remote assistance is the only way to address technical problems without having to fly out and deal with them in person.

Control the user desktop for remote assistance.
Transfer files from a local to a remote device.
Allow unattended access to remote devices.
Automatic reconnect after reboot.

Cons

I would like to see more color schemes.
Better and more intuitive help features.
A more updated user interface.

LogMeIn Rescue is fantastic at resolving device issues when users are away from the office/desk and the unattended access feature is used. When interrupting user workflow means less productivity and potentially less money for the organization, this tool is fantastic at allowing the resolution of issues without being on-premise and without having the user present.

I work at [...] and we use LogMeIn Rescue to do about 75% of our job. We remote in to customers' Point of Sale Terminals, [...] Payment devices, and even sometimes laptops in order to troubleshoot their devices the best we can. Our job is to help the customer run their business as smoothly as possible, and LogMeIn Rescue allows me to do so efficiently. Without it, I would be unable to do my job.

Sometimes customers are stuck because our software is buggy and they give us a hand so that we can intervene on their workstation remotely and allow us to resolve various problems. It is quite simple to connect and be able to navigate on the customer's computer as if it were our own and for this LogMeIn Rescue is perfect

With LogMeIn Rescue Central as our primary remote access tool, LogMeIn Rescue helps us fill the gaps when our clients either turn up with a new computer, or for some reason LogMeIn Rescue Central is having issues on any given computer.

Clearer instructions for MAC users to make necessary permission changes.

Best suited for new workstations that are remote, and which you anticipate making multiple reboots. Easy file transfers are great too.

At my org, LogMeIn Rescue by GoTo is a life saver for remote IT support. It helps us to quickly troubleshoot issues for employees, no matter where they are at that point of time. From fixing software glitches to guiding through complex setups, it had Ensured smooth operations for my team specifically. Good job!

Example when a co workers VPN stopped working, it can easily access their device and access the issue
multi device support available

Cons

I guess session delays can be improved
Also appreciate a more intuitive UI
Mobile support experience is great, can be made better

Likelihood to Recommend

When an employee's software crashes, it can take the full control, fix the issue an get them back to work. For hardware issues, like a faulty keyboard or network disconnection, remote access won't help much unfortunately. It's best when software troubleshooting is needed. Else, overall I don't see many issues with the same.
