What is Qbox?
Qbox, developed by CoralTree, is a remote data sharing and collaboration tool designed for QuickBooks users. According to the vendor, this solution allows businesses of varying sizes, including accounting firms, bookkeepers, business consultants, financial advisors, and professional service providers, to conveniently share and collaborate on QuickBooks files and other documents over the Internet. With Qbox, teams can potentially streamline their workflow, enhance collaboration, and securely access and manage files from anywhere at any time.
Key Features
Share Files, Collaborate: According to the vendor, users can share QuickBooks, MS Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files with multiple users over the Internet. Changes made by individual users are automatically shared and synced to all shared users. The vendor states that Qbox locks the file to protect changes and releases the lock for another user to acquire.
Share QuickBooks Attachments and Documents: Users can share QuickBooks Attachments and document files such as PDF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and other file types. Attachments are stored in the Qbox account for easy access. The vendor claims that Qbox syncs and shares attachments in lock-step to ensure all shared users can view attachments in their QuickBooks Company after sync.
Team Members: The vendor says that users can invite staff as team members and share all folders and files without individual folder invitations. Admin permission can be granted to team members for folder and user management, as well as bill payments.
Qbox MU (Multi-User): According to the vendor, Qbox MU allows local network users to access common folders and files. This feature reduces storage space and Internet bandwidth by eliminating the need for separate folders and individual file syncing. The vendor claims that Qbox MU enables multi-user applications like QuickBooks and MS Access for concurrent file access and sharing with remote users.
Qbox Explorer: Users can utilize the Qbox Explorer to view and manage shared folders and files from a single desktop location. The vendor states that users can check lock and sync status for files and customize individual Qbox client settings with various configuration options.
Qbox Web Dashboard: The vendor claims that users can access the Web Dashboard from the Qbox website for administrative functions. Tasks such as rolling back a file, releasing file locks, adding folders, sending sharing invitations, managing team members, and paying Qbox bills can be performed through the Web Dashboard.
Versioning and Rollback: According to the vendor, users can roll back to any of the 20 versions of a file maintained in the Qbox cloud server. The rolled-back version is updated on all shared user computers. Deleted files are saved for 30 days, allowing retrieval if needed.
