We generally use TeamViewer as an third party screen sharing platform. This software helps us in making sure that we are able to get connected with our clients as well as employees working in different parts of the country. TeamViewer helps in sharing our screen with them and it becomes quite easy to convey message and explain the details of any particular event through video conferencing.

Screen sharing is one of the best feature of TeamViewer
Providing detailed training sessions through online channel is done with the help of this tool
We use TeamViewer to take online meetings, where we discuss about the recent upcoming project of our company

Cons

One of the major disadvantage which its high quality network requirements for proper functioning of screen sharing
The second major challenges its application which has quite Complex user interface and is little difficult for new users without training
The free plan and the trial version has very limited features

TeamViewer is very easy to use and install, so even a user with a basic knowledge of computer. I strongly recommend. Many user outside of our company we can give fast and reliable support using TeamViewer. Today Teamviewer as adopted some change on its platform that will change how the market look to in. But in the market they have have their place and can be more competitive. Some player in market have some better integration or facility like Rust or AnyDesk. They just need keep improve and innovating, which will allow them to become even bigger. I love the fact how easy I can access different equipment like smartphone, tablet and other from a single panel. This makes our job of support team more easy. There is no more to talk, is reliable, stable and very easy to use. I strongly recommended to use or try. It will change how you work and make you connect more and more. We are a SaaS company in 15+ countries, and our office is only in India. We provide demos, training, and issue solving remotely with the help of TeamViewer. It is very difficult to go to every user's place and attend to queries or give a demo/training. For all these problems, we use TeamViewer as a one-stop solution where we can share and access the screens of users and give them the demo and training. Our after sales is always awarded and main helping hand for this is TeamViewer. Using TeamViewer saves our time, money, traveling efforts and international reach.

We were using Zoom meetings for training, but in Zoom meetings, the response to remote access is very slow. And the meeting lasts only for 45 minutes maximum. Remote support is a must have for our managed IT services to provide remote support to our clients and solving their problems quickly and easily. We utilize tools like TeamViewer to remotely access our client computers; whether they are at home or at any branch office. It saves travel time, which allows us to quickly and efficiently access their devices without meeting in person. With quick troubleshooting, IT team's productivity is improved greatly: meaning closing raised tickets fairly quickly, meeting our SLAs.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The IT admin uses remote access to provide help desk services and to occasionally copy files to remote workstations. In addition, we have 15 Remote Workers that access on-premise desktops for secure remote work.

Pros

Secure connections.
Easy file transfer.
Handles multiple remote monitors well.
Assigning multiple managers to a device.

Cons

MFA could be a lot better when connecting to the remote device. If a phone is added to security for the remote worker, then the admin cannot use Easy Access to access the device without interaction with the remote worker. Admins should have access to remote devices via other MFA methods.
App updates sometimes cause unstable status and computer must be restarted.
OS updates often require additional user interaction before completing the sign-in process, leaving TeamViewer in an incomplete startup state and preventing the Remote Worker from accessing the device. An admin then has to remote into the device using another remote desktop access tool (Apple Remote Desktop, for instance) and bypass the user interaction screens, which allows the login process to complete and TeamViewer to start up fully. It would be best if the TeamViewer Host could connect even when the OS is prompting for user interaction (e.g., clicking OK on modal dialog boxes post-update).

Likelihood to Recommend

I think it works well for IT management and help desk support of end users. I find it very useful to help users and send files to their desktop. Remote Workers still run into some problems with MFA and updates, both to the TV Host app and OS updates. However, it does give us secure direct access without the need of a VPN.
