What is WebPT?

Established in 2008, WebPT is an outpatient rehab therapy software platform helping more than 150,000 rehab therapy professionals from all practice sizes and specialties run their practices to improve care delivery and optimize business performance. And because WebPT is a cloud-based application, PTs, OTs, and SLPs can access the platform (and its data) from anywhere, at any time, promoting collaboration across patient care teams and with third-party payers.

We've used WebPT as our EMR with good success. It's a great company with great product and very pro PT. Improvements to EBV would be helpful for us, we tried it for a few months however the benefits sheet was very lengthy, not only related to PT, and not correct for some patients.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use both the EMR and RCM services for our company. The EMR has always been very therapist friendly with functional options that help reduce documentation time. The RCM allows the billing to be all inclusive with the EMR and keeps the workflow happening quicker for the turnaround for payement.

Pros

Wide variety of functional options
Support staff is always friendly and helpful
Documentation is user friendly for the therapist

Cons

More direct access to team support members. Hard to always have to go through a call center
Less outsourcing for the billing solutions. So there are not so many different people dealing with your account.
As a client I would like to be less involved with payer portals

Return on Investment

Documentation time has decreased for the therapists which improves their productivity and energy with patients.
Time spent by myself as the owner with some of the areas of the RCM in particular has taken a lot of my time away from other areas which I don't prefer.
Claim rates have been very solid though throughout and is very appreciated by our team for WebPT's process and efforts in that area!

We use WebPT for both EMR and RCM. We switched to WebPT last May and both the EMR and RCM teams were wonderful during our switch. Both systems are OT/PT specific, which helps our business stay in compliance with all insurances.

In my opinion, WebPT is not the same as it used to be. For me, this system has many issues, including extended lag time, frequent downtime, and inconsistent reports. I have submitted concerns about switching systems, but they are trying to keep us in contract. Unfortunately, it is challenging for me to run a business when your missing notes report is incorrect, your accounting is incorrect, the information doesn't transition over to the billing software, the information doesn't always save, and more. I think there are better systems out there, and I would not recommend this system now.

Pros

It allows you to have multiple charts open at once.
The standard assessments calculate your scores and allow you to have the patient fill the assessments out in the system.

Cons

Customer services, you have to wait for call backs.
In our experience, Reports are inaccurate.
In my opinion, Templates have too much information with redundant information.
In our experience, information doesn't carry over consistently.
In my opinion, Accounting and billing for the system is horrible. In our experience, making payments and tracking payments are inaccurate. To me, it seems like you are dealing with two different companies because, in my experience, they don't communicate.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use WebPT for our EMR and are pleased with the notifications, reports and the totally user-friendly approach the system has. It doesn't take long to create a chart and communicates with the other software that we use for our billing. I like the fact that it has several options for the calendar/scheduler legend, making it easier to spot new patient appointment and any other appointments that need special color coding. I like the ease of uploading documents as well. All-in-all, I would recommend this system to anyone looking to streamline the ease of patient records.

red alerts for auths and RX ending

Being able to see most of the patient information on one screen, so you don't have to toggle back and forth between screens
Being able to open multiple tabs at once so you can continue working without having to remember which case you were on.

Cons

when looking at a patient's upcoming appointments, I wish there was a way to click on the date within that box that would take you to the date on the calendar so you can make changes.

Return on Investment

The reports are informative, providing us with the tools needed to run our clinic in a productive capacity.
