Overall Satisfaction with Absorb LMS

The Absorb LMS has continued to be an easy-to-use but
powerful tool to create educational content for our key partners and
stakeholders, meeting a range of needs and requirements. To date, we have more than a dozen curricula with more being made and approx. 4500 users. We work directly with
Kirsten Spak, who has continuously provided timely and quality help for myself
as the lead and our organization. Kirsten has helped us ensure that we are
going about things as efficiently and is always willing to walk through things
to demonstrate suggestions and functions. As we look to expand our offerings further,
Kirsten has helped strategize for the best approach, which has helped our
workflow and the end-user experience. As we are still relatively new users, but
using the LMS every day, Kirsten has been very patient and provided clear
instruction on processes when we were unsure of what to do and has been able to
troubleshoot, with her team, functions that were desired but not availability
at the time, to provide us with solutions.

Pros

  • Customer Service - Our CSM, Kirsten Spak, has continued to provide consistent, friendly, timely and high-quality help as we expand our utilization of the tool.
  • Course Creation - We have been able to create custom courses with a wide range of features, including branding, audio, video and assessments.
  • Reporting - Absorb LMS offers a robust reporting function which allows us to understand our users and meet the needs of our partners when user information is required for their projects.
  • User Management and Grouping - Absorb allows us to easily manage users - including activation, enrollment, and assignment to groups. This facilitates easier reporting and, importantly, that access to content is limited to only those who should have access.

Cons

  • The AI voice functionality mispronounces certain medical terms, so this is an area that can be improved.
  • Continued improvement in our ability to expand learner engagement and offerings for professionals within our field.
  • Competitive pricing for nonprofit partners.
  • Increased capabilities have facilitated new ideas on how we can connect and support various types of stakeholders in our community.
I've found that the Absorb LMS has been user friendly from an administrative point of view. This has been facilitated by our CSM, Kirsten Spak, who has helped guide us to ensure efficiency and user-friendliness in the resources we're creating.
  • Content Creation (Absorb Create)
  • Reporting & Insights (Absorb Analyze or Absorb Amplify Direct)
Absorb Create allows us to make customized courses to fit the needs of our partners - including specific branding and assessments. The reporting and insight capabilities ensure that our partners have the necessary information on their users to ensure requirements are being met. As we expand education to a more a broad audience, these capabilities facilitate a consistent look and experience across our full library, which further conveys a sense of professionalism.
Our CSM, Kirsten Spak, has provided us with high quality and timely assistance on numerous occasions. This help, and knowing that Kirsten is available to help, makes our administration much more simple and less stressful. Kirsten has and continues to help ensure our processes are efficient and that we're aware of, and utilizing, the available tools and functions within the LMS, when needed.
Not in the listing options - we have previously utilized clinical trial software from Crisalis.

Evaluating Absorb LMS and Competitors

Yes - We previously had a single course offering using clinical trial software from Crisalis. We moved to the Absorb LMS to have more control over design and administration and for cost savings.

As a non-profit, costs are always of the utmost importance. We are a patient advocacy organization and ensuring that we are proper stewards of the donations we receive is top of mind when evaluating costs.
Nothing to note at this time.

Absorb LMS Implementation

  • Learning a new system for content delivery on a deadline. Ensuring that we were developing things the correct, most efficient way

Absorb LMS Training

  • Online Training
  • No Training
The training was comprehensive - there were existing modules to learn functionality but working with Absorb staff, and receiving recordings of those walk-throughs, made a rapid understanding of the LMS achievable and covered the necessary material that was needed and allowed for specific questions to be addressed.
Most of the functionality is pretty intuitive, but it certainly does help to have a CSM available to assist.

Configuring Absorb LMS

We've found that the configurability has met our needs to this point. Like anything, there is always room for growth and improvement.

Yes, as a first time and new user to the Absorb LMS, we did purchase premium support and have continued to do so over the past few years. We appreciate having the consistency of a dedicated Absorb support team member, in our case, Kirsten Spak, who has a good understanding of our organization and what we're trying to accomplish with the LMS. Having Kirsten as a direct contact has also been great for quick resolution of questions and issues, when they arise, and ongoing guidance with our needs in mind.
Yes - Yes and yes. Outside of added functionality, I've reported existing functionality not working as expected and this was addressed promptly and resolved.
As part of our LMS, we work with a number of partners to provide custom clinical trial training programs in which their users earn certificates of completion as part of their required onboarding process. Though all users have access to their certificates, we received a request to provide our partner with all 800+ certifications of completion. We asked whether this could be done in bulk rather than individually, given the large number, and at the time this was not a straightforward or obvious function. However, Kirsten Spak, our CMS, brought the issue to her team and the provided a work-around so that we could save time and download the certificates in bulk. Subsequently, the function to download in bulk was introduced, which we appreciate as it's a request we've received on more than one occasion.

Absorb LMS Reliability

The LMS has met our needs to this point. We are planning to further scale up in the near future and I'm confident that it will continue to meet our needs.
To date, we have had no issues with the availability of the LMS.
We have experienced infrequent issues with things like load times on reporting, or pages timing out, but for the large majority of our time within the system things have worked as they should.

Integrating Absorb LMS

We have not integrated anything at this time.
  • Salesforce
This is a recent direction for us and we were told that integration is supported.
