Acumatica in the HVAC Industry
Overall Satisfaction with Acumatica
At [...] Heating & Cooling we have chosen Acumatica to meet the needs of our different departments. We use the Construction Module for all of our HVAC Installation projects. Tied to that we then use the Service Module to schedule and execute service calls. Both of those modules are then linked to the Payroll Module (processing our payroll each week) as well as the Inventory Mangement, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
Pros
- Project Management - I feel the construction module is the one with the best design so far.
- Payroll - We're not a big company, but it has made processing payroll quite easy along with online tax preparation.
- Acumatica Payments - We've been very happy with this addition to Acumatica. Our invoices now have QR codes making it easy for customers to pay online without having to sign in.
Cons
- Service Module - The financial reporting from this module is still quite weak and needs improvement.
- Acumatica App - This app works for the service department, but it is a bit clunky and it is easy to loose information entered when you have poor data service or did not remember to save. Autosave functions would be great.
- It's made things process quicker in some ways, so we are trying to improve efficiency.
- There are still some parts of Acumatica that that have quite a few steps in a process. It would be great to reduce the number of clicks needed to perform a task at times. This would save time.
12+ months
It has helped us manage projects decently will as a subcontractor with our general contractors. For this part, Acumatica Payments has really helped us reach customers quickly with Accounts Receivable and process receivable payments in an efficient and easy way. We love the part that customers can now pay without having to sign in first.
As I mentioned already, the biggest needs in our industry are project management as well as service appointment scheduling. Both of these then tie into inventory management and payroll. It's very important for these to flow smoothly together.
