Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

We are a large law firm with many users and types of work to be completed. Adobe Acrobat allows our users to make and edit PDFs easily and then send them out to be eSigned all in the product. There are many very helpful tools available in the app which adds to it's overall value.

Pros

  • Editing PDFs
  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
  • eSign
  • Easy to script upgrades

Cons

  • In our experience, high overall user cost
  • In my opinion, terrible contracts for customers
  • Massive installer. Our most recent is over 3GB
  • Increased productivity
  • Included features are great
  • Not having to pay for an additional eSign product is nice
  • Ease of Use
  • Other
Adobe Acrobat is "The" PDF app. Our employees know how to use it, and if they don't the required training is easy and intuitive. Adobe Acrobat knows that other products are simply not as good, even though they are sometimes much cheaper.
Adobe Acrobat is the gold standard and you pay for it. It is easy to use and works how you expect it to. The alternatives are cheaper, but don't offer as many features, and require retaining everyone to switch applications.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

Adobe Acrobat is great for users\companies that need to edit and create
PDFs. The product works well most of the time, but, in my experience, the company is a
hassle to work with. You can only decrease your seat count once a year. In my opinion, Adobe Acrobat knows they are the best and they charge accordingly. We are frequently
getting emailed and called from sales reps looking to "save us money",
but always results in a monthly cost higher than we currently have.

Using Adobe Acrobat

65 - Legal assistants, Paralegals, Attorneys, Law clerks. We are a large law firm and we have to edit and produce PDFs in volume.
1 - Troubleshoot "Print to PDF" issues. Troubleshoot the app crashing.
  • Editing PDFs
  • Creating PDFs
  • eSign documents
  • Redacting documents
  • Bates Stamping
  • OCR on documents allows us to search them
  • eSign has been a nice feature to have that we didn't initially think we would use.
  • Being able to OCR documents saves some of our users a lot of time
We don't care for the high cost, but it is reliable and works better than the alternatives.

Adobe Acrobat Reliability

It works well most of the time, but it's a rare week when I don't have to reinstall an install on one of our machines.

The installer is massive, it's over 3GB now, which makes it a real pain to download and install even on fast internet. Additionally, the links take about 5 minutes to generate, and only last a couple of days.
The app is huge and generally slower than users would like it to be, even on new fast machines.
