Overall Satisfaction with ADP SmartCompliance
ADP Smart Compliance is where we can view tax deposits, invoices, reporting and maintain/view tax rates and frequencies. In addition, we can view rejected direct deposits This application also tracks and lists on the home page items in review or items in waiting to be resolved. The quarterly reporting also contains warning and error reporting thereby keeping in compliance.

Cannot compare, prior to ADP we used either a shared service or work was preformed and maintained by corporate office.
Even though we use ADP for check print it, our physical check layout is maintained by us. ADP provides a list of pay stub requirements, by state, to keep us in compliance. Dedicated account manager and weekly status updates keeps both user and manager aligned and focused. Annual web training is very engaging and is a great refresher, I find these courses to be very helpful. The courses also provide an opportunity to learn about other products ADP has to offer.
For example, ADP made the setup for the employer social security deferral very painless. I only hope the 50% payback is as easy of a process. Account managers are up to date on upcoming trends. I have also found their backup to be very attentive and responsive. This is truly appreciated.

2 - Retail business along with a home office staff consisting of all layers from non exempt to exempt. Along with a stand alone fulfillment center. We also off a hybrid between work and home as well as some employees that work 100% remotely. Adp interfaces and is used for tax filing and check print.
2 - Users should have a strong understanding of tax. Along with dedicating time to balancing wages to w2s, review of statement if deposits and out if balances.

We are multi state employer and while it was a hard path to get where we are, the product suits our needs and is functional. It takes a while to learns all the applications but if you invest the time it will pay off and be rewarded for the effort. I would highly recommend the adp smart compliance tool.
In the begining, we struggled to find a transporter application that worked for us. I would have asked for specific examples and outcomes. It took several attempts for adp to find a solution to meet our needs but when they did, adp came through!

Yes - Tax was separate from check print
Change management was a major issue with the implementation - We had difficulty finding a developer tho handle transporter. In fact, we had to begin from the begining several times. Sign off on reporting was required and this is where we learned the system was not reporting correctly in all instances.

Put forth the effort to make certain everything is mapped and configured properly to avoid reporting problems.
Yes - we have customized the interface extensively - Not easy at all. Adp did find us an implementation vendor but it took several attempts.
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code - We had to solicit the help to get our transporter to work correctly
When the extract is run we get summary and detail reports that were custom built to assist with processing

No, did not realize it was offered. We have used the product long enough though to take advantage of all the features for a successful quarter and year end.
Yes - I think it could have been resolved much quicker. I was told the transporter hadn't looked and validated to the level I did.
Taking care of the social deferral filing....priceless.
Adp also stepped up and offered a solution to handle the process when states were not timely on their loan repayment thereby making the tax deposit late. Way to go,
