Apollo review.
Overall Satisfaction with Apollo.io
My organization uses Apollo primarily as an outreach tool for ICP data, outbound calling and email sequencing, and generic GTM strategizing. The scope of this is somewhat enormous, as we rely heavily on this data to generate leads and pipeline for our lean sales team. Apollo has been our alternative to ZoomInfo for many of the same business problems.
Pros
- Enriching email data.
- User friendliness of contact data layout.
- Apollo extension is extremely useful.
Cons
- The enrichment data across phone numbers appears to be very limited - perhaps offering a more comprehensive waterfall enrichment data set could go a long way.
- The email sequences have given me issues with the timing of emails going out, and getting help with this was incredibly ambiguous.
- Better support or class offerings to become more of an Apollo expert.
- I don't have comparative data to answer this by, so this is not exactly something I can add much info to.
- My experience has been somewhat siloed, strictly due to the nature of my job. I don't have enough to go on.
I think that efficiency has come a lot smoother through Apollo, mostly to find leads and enrich data. It's not our team's preferred tool for deal management, and we have looked to enrich data beyond Apollo a few times because of how poorly the numbers enriched from Apollo appear to be.
It's helped a lot in saving time. I think one way this would be incredibly beneficial is if a dialer were added to the system, allowing for the generation of lists and calling out on those lists with greater efficiency. Ideally, this would bring a lot of levity to a system that has its limitations in terms of being able to dial en masse.
Apollo was more cost-effective for us and promises to do just as much, if not more, with the same resources available as ZoomInfo.
