From a design standpoint, for a presentation software, it is as close as we can get to Adobe and other traditional graphic design software. However, non-designers at the company do not find it intuitive to use and prefer not to use it.
Apple Keynote is superior to all except Figma in terms of design functionality. Figma has even more precise alignment with their auto layout features, layers and frame grouping. The only downside of Figma is that we do not purchase licenses for every person at our company, so only a select few can make edits.

Google Slides is superior in terms of collaboration and file sharing. Sharing a file link does not use up any storage in emails or slow down uploads.

Do you think Apple Keynote delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Apple Keynote's feature set?

Yes

Did Apple Keynote live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Apple Keynote go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Apple Keynote again?

Yes

Apple Keynote is superior in terms of design control and getting the most precise alignment with brand guidelines in terms of sizing, layout, colors and fonts. The master slides feature works very well. I particularly like how easy it is to just copy and paste an image into an image placeholder. Master slide layouts make it easy to lock items in place, but it is also easy to temporarily override master slide items if I want to make slight customizations, which is much harder to do in Google Slides.

The biggest issue is that it is very difficult to work collaboratively with others without using iCloud. My company does not have icloud addresses and we cannot share file owner rights using our company email addresses. Even when I have used iCloud to collaborate it is very slow and lags sometimes so that it does not update for all users at the same time. The file size of .key files is also extremely large, making it difficult to send in emails.

Using Apple Keynote

10 - Sales, creative
2 - Graphic designers
  • sales decks
  • internal onboarding
  • sales decks
  • brand guidelines
  • onboarding packages
It is already included with my Macbook and the design functionality is pretty advanced so I can upload my custom brand fonts and it is easy to create templates where you can drag and drop different images while keeping overall alignment and placement the same

Evaluating Apple Keynote and Competitors

  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
The design functionality was most important. Google Slides and Powerpoint do not have as much design capability so the final product does not come out as aesthetic
Would let the designers have a larger stake in the decision-making process than other leadership members
