Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize the AvaTax and AvaCert system. The Avalara system is used throughout the company for verifying tax rates to taxing company transactions and processing of the Sales tax returns. We also utilize the certificate system to keep track of customers that have valid exemptions. The Avalra system saves the company many hours of manual calculations and time for processing monthly sales tax filings.

Pros and Cons

Avalara does a great job at processing returns timely
Avalara does a great job updating tax rates to make sure they are paid to the correct jurisdictions

Having a way to process construction use tax
Being able to balance the tax returns back to the General Ledger more easily

Return on Investment

Makes it easier not to have to have a whole team of employees to process tax returns.

Implementation Rating

Work you & your implementation team and make sure to utilize all the resources and understand all the process while Avalara is being set up. There are a lot of great features and you will want to make sure you understand how to use them.

Usability

Avalara has a lot of good features and is pretty easy to navigate through.

Additional Capabilities

We utilize the managed returns filings and the exemption certificates. Both of the systems are great and saves our company a lot of time each month for sales tax compliance.

Likelihood to Recommend

Avalara is well suit for companies that are looking to outsource their sales and use tax filings and being able to keep track of their certificates. The main area of improvement would be to able to handle construction use tax transactions.
