Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

We have multiple entities using Avalara, and the products help us keep our records organized while ensuring accurate tax rates are charged for all our entities for their physical and nonphysical locations.

Pros

  • Exemption Certificate Management.

  • Keeping our business informed of new tax laws.

Cons

  • Avalara has cutting-edge technology, but may release products a bit prematurely; maybe this is on purpose to receive feedback from their customers.
  • The website can lag at times with several entities.
  • Information on the website updates could stand out a bit more.

Most of our companies were fairly easy to integrate; however, we had a couple that were a bit more complex. Those companies had to set up their ERP systems a little differently to integrate; this wasn't an Avalara issue, but more a User issue.
I've found that Avalara is very responsive to user feedback and continually improving processes to simplify them.

I believe Avalara is well-suited for most businesses, especially those with a single entity or multiple entities that are similarly set up. For companies with complex set-up's or multiple ERPs, it can be a bit tricky at times, but still a great product.
