Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

We utilize Avalara for calculating sales tax within our ERP system as well as for scheduled sales tax filings in the states where we have economic nexus. It has proven very handy at bringing in all requirements in relevant states. Adding new returns is a snap, and their help section has proven very useful in understanding how to get things working correctly.

Not difficult.
It is relatively simple to navigate Avalara and get relevant data on our sales tax filings. The system integrates well with our ERP system. Some areas are a little more complex or harder to interpret than they would seem is necessary. Also, integrating with a web commerce portal proved more difficult, but most of this was due to support on the e-commerce side.
Managed returns are what we primarily utilize Avalara for, and they have proven very helpful for our business.

The system has been great for our small business who could use help in automating the tedium of filing returns and staying on the different state requirements. We don't utilize all of their products, but the solutions they provide are increasing and include handling tax exemption documents. Their help (both AI and with a human) is generally top-notch. Their pricing could be slightly more competitive.
